Something tells me you’ve been missing out
on all the places and towns we always used to go,
and so I’m stuck here to figure now,
the chance we had made you pack your bags.

You're three thousand miles
from the place you once called home.
So much different,
you’re getting distant
and now I’m the only one whose all alone.
The fact about fiction is that it’s always in your head.
So let it all go just what you don’t know is I’d pick you,
yeah, I’d pick you instead.

So drink down the bottle and just go to bed,
this whole situation is going right over your head.
You’re out of your body, why don’t you come to mine?
Cause right now what it takes to fall,
is what it takes to climb.

You're three thousand miles
from the place you once called home.
So much different,
you’re getting distant
and now I’m the only one whose all alone.
The fact about fiction is that it’s always in your head.
So let it all go just what you don’t know is I’d pick you, yeah,
I’d pick you instead.

So Break away from the simple things in life,
cause when the moon comes out
there is no doubt that it is always by your side.
I never thought you could be so happy with a ticket in your hand,
and a plane ride back to home.
I guess for now I'll have to settle for the fact that what we could have been is what I’ll never know.

You're three thousand miles
from the place you once called home.
So much different,
you’re getting distant
and now I’m the only one who’s all alone.
I’m writing post cards to let you know how much I care,
saying, "the only thing that gets me by is when I close my eyes and pretend you're there."

General CommentIsn't the title 3000 Miles. Little difference, but I'm looking off the back of the album, and that's what it says.

General CommentI think that this song could be about two people who were close friends but never really dated and now the chance is gone. I think the person he is talking to has moved and could have now realized what she had since she is so far away and he is telling her how much she means/meant to him and that things could have been different.

    Just what I think. =]]

General Commentthis is a very powerful song about two people who were so close and then the girl moved away. and not are they just far apart, but the girl is wrapped up in her new life that she's forgetting about her boy. out of sight, out of mind. except when she's finally coming back home she's excited. at that point, the boy is actually surprised but he says that if he had the choice, he'd pick her over the distance... but would she?

General CommentThis song is very powerful i agree.
    My take on the lines:

The fact about fiction is that it’s always in your head.
So let it all go just what you don’t know is I’d pick you, yeah,
    I’d pick you instead.

Is that if he could pick between living a fantasy (fiction) life or living with her around, he'd pick her. Im actually having this situation, one of my best "girl" friends who i've liked for awhile is moving, and i wish she couldve stayed to see how "we" could've worked out.
    AMAZING BAND AND SONG!!

General Commentit may not be the intention of the song, but when i hear it it touches me personally. i take it as kind of a back and forth thing, with the way i feel about someone. theres a friend of mine. we used to be so close. but i got involved with someone else, and moved in with him. we're still together a year and a half later, but at times i still have that inkling that if i knew mike liked me, i just might have "picked him instead" as the song says. everythings so different, and whether thats for better or for worse, i dont know.
