Spending all my nights, all my money going out on the town
Doing anything just to get you off of my mind
But when the morning comes, I'm right back where I started again
And tryna forget you is just a waste of time

Baby come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you

All day long, wearing a mask of false bravado
Tryna keep up a smile that hides a tear
But as the sun goes down, I get that empty feeling again
How I wish to God that you were here

Baby come back, oh baby, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you

Now that I put it all together, oh
Give me the chance to make you see
Have you used up all the love in your heart?
Nothing left for me? Ain't there nothing left for me?

Baby come back, oh darling, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back, listen baby, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you

I was wrong, and I just can't live

Classic mellow '70's music...bell bottoms, macrame halter tops, feathered hair, shortshorts, petrocks, avacadogreenappliances, and microwaves run by 3 mile Island that were the size of the Buick your Grandpa drove!!!

Song meaning: A guy broke up with his girlfriend and is vainly trying to get his mind off her. He feels entirely responsible and asks for forgiveness.

Feel free to add whatever I missed.

This guy is doing whatever he can to forget about her. He plays it off like a "Player" in the daytime, but when the nightime comes, he's reminded of her. He's begging her to come back. Whatever he did, he knows he fucked up, and now he will spend the rest of his life in a lonely, agonizing torture. bummer

    My Interpretation

The Fact that the song ends on the words "I just can't live" always made me imagine this as a happy song with a dark twist at the end regarding suicide... It isn't the intention of the singer to give this twist but I like to imagine it

I agree with artvandelay142, this song is totally horror movie material.

But for some reason, I still like it though....

I work with a girl, let's call her "Jen"....... this is most favorite song in the ENTIRE world........... I also work with this other jerk, let's call him "Brian".... he keeps playing it ..... over and over....... and over .... very annoying.

    The End.

It's CLEAR to me that he cheated on her, and he's paying the price. "You can blame it all on me" -- he's outright admitting to it. Also, "But when the morning comes, I'm right back where I started again" tell us that he continues to do so, even when he knows he's wrong. I don't know why Jen likes this song as it exemplifies what is wrong with the world.

I don't know why Jen likes this song

Because she's fascinated with it... she thinks this idiot "Brian" doesn't know.... but sometimes, when "Brian" walks in... he catches her listening to it alone..... it's really kind of creepy. It gets in the blood...... this song is pure evil....... it's one of those songs that would be playing the back ground of some slasher movie as he's axing everybody up........ only a deranged person would like this song.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
