My Batteries died sometime ago
Gotta heart shaped box where they must go
Corrosion's building everyday
My flesh is leading me astray that's why I started to decay and I will slowly rot away but I can't feel that anyway

This heart it wants to beat
These Lungs they want to breathe
These eyes they wants to see
Gotta mouth that wants to sing

Desperation
Needing you
Every last breath
I scream for you
Shatter me into a million pieces...Make me new

Crush me, tear me, break me, mold me
Make me what you want me to be
I am your's for you to use
Oh, take and replace me with you

Needing more than just a jump start to get me through
My disconnection is now the issue.....

(rap)
I miss my 1st love bad and its driving me mad
Just Like a mixed up crazy person out of his head
Its been a long long time I've been on the decline
I do an a-bout face so I can be replaced. 180

This heart it wants to beat
These lungs they want to breathe
These eyes they wants to see
Gotta mouth that wants to sing

Desperation
Needing you
Every last breath
I scream for you
Shatter me into a million pieces...Make me new

Crush me, tear me, break me, mold me
Make me what you want me to be
I am your's for you to use
Oh, take and replace me with you

One for the body
Two for the soul
Three to get ready
Now go go go

Replace me with you

(Desperation
Needing you
Every last breath
I scream for you)

Desperation
Needing you
Every last breath
I scream for you
Shatter me into a million pieces...Make me new

Crush me, tear me, break me, mold me
Make me what you want me to be
I am your's for you to use
Oh, take and replace me with you

"Every last breath I scream for you Shatter me into a million pieces...Make me new" This is my favorite part of the whole song. I can't really just sit and hear this song. I have to move. It hits home because that is what i say most of the time and basically what the bible says about being like God. I am yours for u use. take me ,replace me with you. I think that the opening of the song is like saying you know, i am a sinner. a terrible person and i need your help. I have noticed when people become christians that most of the time they are like htis and crying. just completely desperate for help and giving it all to God. that is what i think it means. I saw them live and they are AWESOME!!! I had never heard of them before and now i listen to them as often as i can.

I love this song, it's just what I need to hear/sing when I'm feeling down. Definitely one of their best, most God-focused songs that I've heard. I also prefer the more rockish influence in the music style.

And yeah, it's pretty much about giving it all to God, and letting Him do what He wants with your life. It's also about how God is the answer to our problems, and that when your heart is feeling down (My Batteries died sometime ago/Gotta heart shaped box where they must go), God will fix it. Lastly, it says that God's will for our lives, and His impact/changes on our lives are all great things, and satisfy the hunger of our souls.

    Quite a deep song actually...

One of my favorite family force 5 songs, i think it's about messing up in life, and realizeing the god is the only one who can put you back together.

This song has a lot to do with God it says, "Crush me, tear me, break me, mold me Make me what you want me to be" meaning, "God change me into the person I am ment to be in your eyes." And the chorus also shows that they are desperate and need to be broken by God, so he can truly change them.

I don't know how you can think this song isn't about God. Can someone give good examples to try and prove that point?

mandolin, sry to point out....but you are wrong....this is a Christian song, and I think as a Christian writer, he dosn't want a girl to "tear him, break him, mold him, make him" he want's God to, and when he says do what you want me to be, I am yours for your to use, or take and replace me with you..." he means that he wnats God to take him and use him so yeah, that's my point...even though, it doesn't seem like it, FF5 are HxC Christians. just ask 'em like I did at one of their shows !)

I believe its about wanting God to take over your life.

'Shatter me into a million pieces' is saying He wants God to just take over his entire life (break it down and mold him and ETC) And for God change to change him into the person in Gods eyes.

FF5 is a cross-over band, they're christian but they'll go to bars and places to minister. They play ALL OVER the Christian radio stations I listen to, if you have proof they're not Christian email me then.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
