"Tongues" as written by Emil Nodtveidt, Andreas Bergh, Skinny Kangur and Ole Ohman....
No prayers can reach me here
No light can touch
Among reduced Bibles, cigarettes and drugs
I carve your name in my flesh

Listen... Listen...
...then come and take my hand

Tongues, Tongues
Speak the little girls name
Tongues, Tongues
... shame, shame

Innocence will never kiss me again
Never lick my stiched scars
Your lipstick's between the legs of hell
Mixed with speed and blood

The eggs grow in her open wrists
It has started now...
Her taste is on my lips and tongue
The taste of white medicines

...Listen ...Listen ...
I'll come and take your hand!

General CommentA good interpretation. Personally I think it's about being in lust with someone a lot younger ("I carve your name in my flesh") and influencing them into doing illegal things ("Your lipstick's between the legs of hell mixed with speed and blood"), twisting her until she's as fucked up as he is ("the eggs grow in her open wrists, it has started now"), and he knows its wrong ("no prayers can reach me here, no light can touch" ... "shame, shame")

I love this song. It's very dark, and in a little way depressing. You kinda hear the "shame" in more than just the lyrics, but in the music as well.

General CommentI definitely agree with the rape/molestation interpretation. However, this song could be about making breakfast for all I care - the sound is just amazing.

General CommentI'm old school. I think this song is about cocaine drug abuse. The main character is taking drugs with someone who had slit their wrists in an act suicide. As the drug crazed moment gets out of hand, the suicide lover actually kills themselves. The mention of the stiched scars and egg grows (maggots) illustrate death. The "little girl" is slang for cocaine. And it should read lip sticks (as to a mirror) not lipstick like cosmetics. Just my two cents.

General CommentI heard this song first on myspace and loved it so i dl'd it. I think this song is about child molestation. The lines"Speak the little girls name" and "her taste is on my lips and tongue" is what Im mainly basing my opinion on. the "shame...shame..." part just reinforces it b/c obviously child molestation is disgusting and shameful.
