First you didn't come out you called it another phase
Come on come out
Now you've hidden so deep I can't find you anywhere
Come on come out
You didn't call out for me again
You didn't, you didn't call out
And I've never felt so alone

So strange...it's always the same

Oh when did you become
So cold and far away
You exist inside me
Oh empathy is ours
Don't you break away because
A Chemical in Me is all you will be

Have you bitten yourself a scar that you can't repair
Come on come out
There's no reason to think you can't fly with broken wings
Come on...come out
I know that you can't hear the serenade
You've locked yourself somewhere I can't locate
Can barely feel you crawling under my skin

So estranged...don't want you to fade away

Oh when did you become
So cold and far away
You know you exist inside me
Oh empathy is ours
But don't you break away because
A Chemical in Me is all you will be

General CommentI think this song is about a guy and a girl with a magnetic attraction. However, for some reason, they get to know each other a little more before doing the deed. He discovers she has a lot of emotional baggage and she starts to push him away. The attraction remains.
