"In A Song" as written by and Anna-lynne Williams....
What if all I want is not so hard after all?
I've spent too many days wanting
If it's just wildflowers that we could pick
And set on the table and look at in the morning

I see it when you do just what I said
And I don't feel then that my heart
Knows the difference

"Let me sleep," is all that you ask of me
But I can't remember a dream that didn't scare me
So what if it's just one sentence
That you must not have heard in a song
Cause it's too honest and flawed

I see it when you do just what I said
And I don't feel then that my heart
Knows the difference

Next time, will I not imagine
I know how you could save me
And love me enough?
Next time, will I not imagine
You have something
To soothe me that
I've never had?

General CommentI can relate to this song. It's mainly about how she is in love with this guy that she is romantically involved with, but he seems distant. She wants more from the relationship, but he seems disinterested. But then she is somewhat aware that he may perhaps love her (perhaps he has never said this "sentence" to her before and she longs for it). But then she is not too sure of this. This song has a longing/sad tone to it. She wants for him to want her, she hopes for it, but is sadden by their stagnant relationship.

General Commentthis sounds like someone is trying to decide if they are happy or not. they have something good, but is it the right thing, or is there something else more out there? maybe they thought they had it all but now it all seems routine and they're not sure if they're just comfortable or if it's really right.

General CommentEventually, all relationships result in complacency. Both parties take the other for granted and there is no more spark. She wants that spark back, but he's not responding. She may also be too tired to do anything about it.

General CommentTo me It seems like maybe an internal battle of thinking she knows all the things he could do to make you feel loved and happy. That she's so certain if she could just get her point across in the right way he'd be more consistent. Then a realization that it's the memory of spontaneous moments that hold the most happiness for her. Then wondering if next time she's struggling will she remember the realization or repeat the process again.
