I want to take a drive
I want to feel alive
I know I can't survive without the radio
I'm taking no left turns
I'm number one with zero burn
I've learned to love to learn to love the radio

I love to hear that song
Even though it's number one on the radio
R-A-D-I-O
Baby loves the radio

I want to leave this town
Just put the pedal down
And head for where the ground meets the radio
The whole wide world I'll see
From the golden gate to NYC
It's all the same to me on the radio

I love to hear that song
Even though there's only one on the radio
R-A-D-I-O
Baby loves the radio

The radio is playing
When cheating and when praying
Forgiveness for all I've done wrong
I can't escape the radio song

R-A-D-I-O
Baby loves the radio
R-A-D-I-O
Baby loves the radio
I love to hear that song
Even though there's only one on
I love to hear that song
Even though there's only one on the radio
R-A-D-I-O
Baby loves the radio

This song's in heavy rotation
On every radio station
Across this whole wide nation (R-A-D-I-O)
I'm beginning to lose my patience (Baby loves the radio)

General CommentLast fall I drove from eastern NY to Portland, OR. For most of the trip I just kept my iPod on random shuffle, but every once in awhile I decided I didn't like feeling so cut off from the outside world, and I'd switch to the radio just to see what people were listening to in Ohio, or Iowa, or Wyoming.

Every single time I did that, I heard "Hey There, Delilah." First song. Every time. So after a few tries I gave up and played this song on the iPod instead, because that experience is what it's about.

(But...sorry, but I can't help wondering if Steve felt differently when that one song was One Week!)
