"Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone" as written by and Jesper Claes Haakan/gelotte Stroemblad....
Find time,
And play with innocence,
Like you ever would,
Doesn't seem to make any sense,
I guess you deliver misery,
Just like you should,
Oh, nine o'clock,
And you paint the skies gray,
It's not your fault,
We're the ones who betray,
But how can you say with such ease,
Wanna take a stand,
Or you just wanna fight,

Your bedtime story is scaring everyone,
You make me understand the evil that men do,
The evil that men do

General CommentWTF? There's lyrics in this one?

anyway, I heard from a friend that thing song is about Anders' child, and that he goes to sleep when the news report comes on. There's never any good news there nowadays, which explains the name and static in the background...

But does it have LYRICS? I thought it was just a weird instrumental. I listened closely, and I did here the static say "Find time", but then I couldn't hear anything more from the lyrics.

General Commentthe vocals are with such emotion, but i find that in a lot of screaming bands, especially in flames and dark tranquillity...i find screaming can show a lot more emotion than normal singing

    just like you ever would.
I don't see you make any sense.
I guess you deliver misery just like you should.

9 o' clock and you paint the skies grey.
It's not your fault we 're the ones who betray.
Just how can you say it with such ease?
You want to take a stand or just please?

Your bedtime story is scaring everyone.
But you make me understand, the evil that men do.

These are the lyrics as illustrated on the back of the official poster contained within the DVD/CD edition of Come Clarity i right now holding while also playing the cd on the stereo.

Ofcourse everyone who gave a rendition of the intention of the writer has more or less spoken a good guess. Truth is, as described by the 3 minute industrial instrumental, it's late at night, tv's on mumbling the news, and a slow melody painting the writers thoughts after puting his child to sleep, preserving his/her innocence, and preventing the atrocity and the disastrous disaccord of the recent reality, on a global basis, from reaching his/her thoughts and emotions.

It's, nevertheless, important to note, though, that the writer also focuses on the news presenter on the 2nd verse. he, even, directly asks "how can you say it with such ease?". It is unimaginable, ubsurd, and unheardof how one can speak this tragedies that disgrace man and human civilization, with such ease. It's implied, also, through the last two lines of verse 2, that egoism, and personal benefit, outbeat the will to serve the common good. And the verb "Please" is of vital significance for the proper interpretation of this message. The news presenter wants to simply "do her job", and avoids taking a stand, being hiding behind the so called - and frankly speaking, inexistent - "impartial reporter" "protocol". Consequently, she only pleases the higher authorities, the boss, the old fat rich prick sitting on the large comfy leather chair atop the Skyscraper.. the capital, those who force these events to take place.

Another remarkable point to be discussed is that although the writer even witnesses this "scandal", which is actually no secret at all, makes no further comment, or confession of anger or disgust about it.
Thing is, this "confession of anger and disgust" towards the present of humanity, and how the mass media, driven by the capital, malign the people, is included in the newest album of In Flames, "A sense of purpose". If you find it hard to comprehend it, by, either listening, or reading, the lyrics, do watch the music video for the first single, entitled "The Mirror's Truth". A revolution takes place in an industry.. not surprisingly at all.. in a tv channel, while a fat one sits on his comfy sofa watching what's shown on tv. (i believe)

    General CommentVarulf,
That is because you have a bootlegged copy of the album. It only plays the first 3 min or so... go buy the fucking album, you douche. In Flames deserves your money, lol. Besides, it comes with a KICK ASS DVD of them playing the entire album live. Of course, I had to buy it at Circuit City to get the DVD...

General Commentin the movie Schindler's List, a group of jewish women and children are discussing the Nazi gas chambers, and a worried mother in denial exclaims "your bedtime story is scaring everyone"

I can't tell if the song is about this movie, or if it is just inspiration, or perhaps just a clever song title? I just thought I'd share this.

General CommentVarulf is perfectly right, Anders says this in the EMP. The bedtime story is the news always on TV when his child goes to bed.
