"Where You Come From" as written by and Vincent Paul/abbott Abbott....
When the world pronounced me dead
put me in the grave
the cut off my legs
it was not long
I couldn't hold my mouth
I ran my head
I ran my head

It's strange to be around again
things might have killed me
but not the bastard in the skies
I was fucking with the plan
asking for it all,
call it karma or guilt
being dragged down the road
call it wisdom or ignorance

But it's still alive
and it's in me now
and it lives and breathes
but, I can't give a fuck
I've got a big mouth
and there's a lot to learn
from a bottle of whiskey
it's where you come from
(the south)

A remedy to the curse
cold turkey, drop the bomb
on harder wares control
suspend above, become one
Look at what's around
It may piss you off
It might be shit
But I just can't lie around
Feeling sorry for myself

I could care less
(from weed and whiskey)
I fell in front of my friends
I dropped out in front of the world
you call that supernatural?
I ain't

Black wings will weather your flight
for some there's no second time
following paths of your life
I stepped off the mountain to the sky

watch your ass no
it's where you come from
it's where you come from

General CommentIt's underated for not everyone can get to this song for it isn't on any of the 5 studio albums. It's on official live 101 proof.

I love this swingy southern riff. "A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY!"

General CommentWell I guess it sounds more like his battle with drug addiction and alcoholism... he has a lot to learn about those things, it caused him to fall in front of his friends, and since it probably runs in his family, it's where he comes from. Addiction, ya know? Whatever.

General Commentyeh this song is amazing. one of the best riffs. very underated. GREAT lyrics.

what its about i think. somewhat of his addictions to alcohol and drugs. about when he died perhaps, or even freaking out one night and told the rest of pantera he quit. but then came back and appologized up and down "its strange to be around again" or possibly back in his home town. also as nightshade has said the part "i fell in front of my friends i dropped out infront of the world, you call that supernatural??" like how embarrising that was and how like being in his celebrity positioning its like hes looked at as a god but really it just shows how like anyone else he really is

also with the "But it's still alive And it's in me now And it lives and breathes But, I COULD CARE LESS!!!" his dad was an alcoholic and shit and he always hated him for it and the dude beat him and shit. see "25 years".

And also i think as ive said about when he died on heroin and was revived "Black wings will weather your flight For some there's no second time"

and yeh just mainly about his struggle with addictions that his father also had "its where you come from" and just getting fucked up and making rash decisions and saying shit you regret. "ive got a big mouth and theres alot to learn from a bottle of whiskey"

anyway thats just what i think. anyone agree haha?
