"Key To The Highway" as written by William Lee Conley Broonzy and Charles Segar....
I got the key to the highway,
Billed out and bound to go.
I'm gonna leave here running;
Walking is most too slow.

I'm going back to the border
Woman, where I'm better known.
You know you haven't done nothing,
Drove a good man away from home.

Oh give me one, one more kiss mama
Just before I go,
Cause when I leave this time you know I,
I won't be back no more.

    General CommentI'm currently listening to John Lee Hooker's rendition of this composition...I really haven't fully digested the lyrics. But am in awe at his voice, style of playing and the whole idea that he was doing this very early on in musical history.

    Song Meaningpretty easy to understand this song, its an old blues song. Pretty much about ending a bad realationship that left the singer far away from home.. they took a wrong path. Think in a weird way it sorta how things really turned out with Patti Boyd for EC..
