"Another World" as written by and David Faulkner....
God only knows how far you've come
It must be light years from here
Some distant star you call "the sun."
Does someone miss you back there?

Another world is calling you.
Another world is coming through.

You look like me, you talk like me
I could believe you're human!
But, late at night, I catch your eye
And I know what you're thinking:

Another world is calling you.
Another world is coming through.
Calling you to come home.

You can't escape from gravity,
For you, this earth's a prison.
What I would call "human" in me
For you would be "perversion".

Another world is calling you.

General CommentSeems to be about a relationship with someone from completely different circumstances or experiences, and the ensuing gap between what the speaker and the subject can relate to. Being from Perth like the Hoodoo Gurus, I always thought that it might be acknowledging in some way the distance from the rest of the world. And the space references seemed to be metaphors for faraway and more central parts of the world - "the Sun" being Europe or North America or somewhere foreign that the world seems to revolve much more around than Western Australia.
