With a black heart undercover, watching you sleep every night.
"I wish you'd watch me too..." We're made for each other
Honey if you only knew, every night I'm watching you...

Shut up you're talking to loud for me to not listen.
This operation's gotten old, the face I stole, the gun of
lust shot through your soul, and all that's left is empty holes.

Mom and Dad can't help you anymore Get in the car we'll drive far to the end of the shore
Under the docks, on top of the rocks, "Knock knock knock knock
Why the fuck are the doors locked?!"

Maybe she forgot about our talks, or maybe I'm mistaken,
But I swear to god that she's not getting out of this without some kind of explanation,
Oh I'm straining on your patience? Maybe scaring you a little?
Just because I came to visit doesn't mean you have to hide.
I'll be waiting on the side of your house,
With an empty bodybag
And a loaded .45

And then you wont forget my fucking name!

You're tearing me up, inside my mind.
You walked in front, I ran behind...

General Commentcrazy stalker shit.....but one of the best songs a 3 piece band can make

when thom spends time on the lyrics it really improves the song...which is why the ghostships are so amazing...the same goes with most of the new songs

General CommentThe actor's name is Macaulay Culkin. I wonder why they called it "McCulkin". Maybe just to repeat the "Mac" sound.

General CommentIt makes me think of some guy who's obsessed with a girl, she turns him down and he goes all stalker weirdo on her, either ending with him killing her or possibly just warning her that he'll do it. I think someone said it above anyway.

Also, I agree with forever_haunted about that part of the song; the rhythm of the words matched with the music is just awesome!

General CommentThere's a pretty significant mix up there, thats the gun of "lust" not the gun of "lost". I see Doppelganger as a kind of odyssey through relationship mishaps and the words are very much like someone's inner thoughts through a tough time. This song is about some kind of final solution through violence: the gunshot will end the life of the object of his desire, and thus bring finality to an ambiguous, tumultuous situation. No more "forever contradicting..."

General CommentNot only are the lyrics just straight up creepy stalker stuff, but at like the 4:30 mark of the song it goes into some creepy stalker sounding instrumentals.
