"Goodmornin' Da" as written by Anthony David Broderick, Aaron Lee Duggins, Anthony J Duggins, Clayton Allen Hansen, Rebecca Brooke Manthe, Michael Pawula and Patrick Daniel Shaw....
Well goodmornin’ Da, oh I’m in gaol.
I don’t need you to try for bail.
If I know Ma, she’ll scream and wail,
So just lock me up and throw away the key.

Well goodbye to my own Dublin Dear,
And goodbye to old St. Brigid’s there.
Well I wasn’t’ born with this,
But now I got it like a flu.
I’m fucking useless,
So what’s the point of impressing you?

Well goodmornin’ Da, oh I’m in gaol.
I don’t need you to try for bail.
If I know Ma, she’ll scream and wail,
So just lock me up and throw away the key.

Well I’d only fifteen pints but I could not see,
When them damn skites got a hold of me.
Well I could say it was the whiskey oh,
But that it may not be.
Or just the prospect here of something else to do.

Well goodmornin’ Da, oh I’m in gaol.
I don’t need you to try for bail.
If I know Ma, she’ll scream and wail,
So just lock me up and throw away the key.

Well I’ve always been a problem child,
And I know that I have been too wild.
I wasn’t born with this,
But now I got it like a flu.
I’m fucking useless,
So what’s the point of impressing you?

Well goodmornin’ Da, oh I’m in gaol.
I don’t need you to try for bail.
If I know Ma, she’ll scream and wail,
So just lock me up and throw away the key.
Well, just lock me up and throw away the key.
I said just lock me up and throw away the key.

General CommentWell goodmornin’ Da, oh I’m in JAIL.
he feels like hes better off in jail, b/c he feels like he's useless, and he never used to feel that way, and he doesnt care anymore b/c hes tired of trying to impress ppl. thats what I think.

General CommentI am quite surprised for only three posts on this song, good band. The song is about alcoholism. The lead singer, Tony Duggins is an alcoholic and the line, I wasn't born with this, But now I got it like a flu. is referring to this. I imagine he has spent a night or two in the drunk tank after a long night of drinking, maybe this is a confessional of sorts.

Song MeaningThe song is about a man arriving to jail, and hes spending his one phone call to call his da and tell him hes in jail, he doesnt want to be bailed out because he doesnt want to seem like a shit to his father, and he will take care of the bail on his own. but he ask him not to tell his ma because she will freak out on him
