All my thoughts start to gain speed
At several thousand feet
Of all the things I see
Of what my life even means
I've gathered all these things
Things that I can't keep

Well, I want to give this little motion
That can carry on when I'm gone

I want to see
(I want to see)
I want to love
(I want to believe)
I want to stand up strong when fire comes
I want to be the man I'm meant to be
And give away all that I can't keep

When it rains late in the spring
The pavement and the rain
Something moves in me
The air won't leave me alone
To what I'm living for
To what I want to be

Well, I want to give this little motion
That can carry on when I'm gone

I want to see
(I want to see)
I want to love
(I want to believe)
I want to stand up strong when fire comes
I want to be the man I'm meant to be
And run where I can see
And give away all that I can't keep

All the waves inside of me
Moving me to face a day
To give away what I can't keep
All these things that I can't keep
I want to see
I want to breathe
I want to love
To find a way
To leave the things that move in me
I still believe
What moves in me
I still believe
What moves in me
I'll find a way

This is my favorite song of all time. It makes me want to be a better man, give away my possessions and stop caring about all the things that don't matter. "...give this world motion that could carry on when I'm gone."

He first talks about the moments when you think about the meaning, the significance of your own life...here in the U.S. we like our possessions but they're things that we can't keep.

There are reasons and ways that we can live better lives. They were emotions that stirred in us when we were younger, more idealistic. But those emotions are deeply rooted in us and they still move in us. We still believe them, we just gotta do what's right...

Well it's more from his own perspective haha but I can relate very closely to what he's saying.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
