Is this where we need to be?
Or are we tired of looking?
Searching, for more than eyes can see
For something to believe in
Slipped away, fell away, tried to play yourself
No turning back, all alone
And there's nobody else
Who even knows I'm missing

I and I won't run this time
It's worth more than the chance we're taking
I and I won't run this time
Wanting more has got me waiting
This time for love

And nothing ever changes
Waiting, gets harder every time
I don't know how to stay still
And nothing more left to lose
Throw it all away
May be the last chance I get to see your face
I can't afford to leave here

I and I won't run this time
It's worth more than the chance we're taking
I and I won't run this time
Wanting more has got me waiting
This time for love

I and I won't run this time
I can't believe the chance we're taking
I and I won't run this time
I need to know so I'll be waiting
This time for love

I and I won't run this time
It's worth more than the chance we're taking
I and I won't run this time
Wanting more has got me waiting
This time for love

I and I won't run this time
I can't believe the chance we're taking
I and I won't run this time
I and I won't run this time
This time from love

Excellent song. Too bad it's one of the two only good songs on the new CD. :\

You missed a couple AND's in the lyrics ...and you left out "And I have done this all before" at the beginning of the second verse.

Anyway this song is good but nothing spectacular. I guess since there's so many bad tracks on this album that this one stands out a little since it's not so terrible.

I'm guessing here but I think this song is about a rocky relationship someone's having, and instead of seriously addressing the problems they're having with the other person, they're just avoiding them. But not "this time"

I had a car crash two nights ago. Both vehicles are written off and we were both able to WALK away from it. (Well technically I couldn't walk at the time.. but you know..)

Anyway, this song was playing at the time. Which is weird.. because yeah this is how I am with a lot of relationships.. I always run from the problems rather then discuss them and try work through them.

Oddly enough I stood up to someone about that last night, before even realising that it was this song playing..

To me this song is about a couple ending their relationship and mutually parting ways, but still knowing that they really care about each other. The problem was that they realized that there was something greater out there in the world for them and based upon both their life's situation at that time, they knew they couldn't be together. They had to "find themselves"; understand their true identity first and come to love that before they could love and care for anyone else. ... the bittersweet part is that these two people have been waiting for so long to find someone like each other. But the hope that emanates ... found in this line: "Wanting more has got me waiting, This time for love" ... to me it means that they both realize that love is out there. The greatest love of all, is what they're patiently waiting to remember once again.

have u guys heard this song before? i dont know if any of u r christians or not, im guessing not. countless times i hear someone comment on a christian songs meaning saying like "well i think its about a relationship and how its falling apart". that is right, it is about a relationship......with Jesus. this one in particular with lines like "more than eyes can see" and "something to believe in". it may seem like its too obvious but sometimes it has to be cause some people look way too deep into lyrics. the whole first verse is talkin about looking for something but they dont know what. "Is this where we need to be? Or are we tired of looking?" that says most of us just give up cause we cant find the answer, so we say "well i cant find anything to put my trust into" when actually their just tired of looking for it. "Slipped away, fell away, tried to play yourself No turning back, all alone And there's nobody else Who even knows I'm missing" thats sayin how they feel right now (without Jesus). worthless and abandoned and cant turn back cause they never had anything to turn back to. the verse is sayin hes going to listen to the "Jesus freaks" next time they talk about their beliefs. cause he has been running from the christian faith since its ridiculed so much, he doesnt think he has the courage to stand up to the slander. he wants more, so hes waiting till it hits him instead of running. second verse is saying how hes getting that feeling again how every time he starts to have faith nothing seems to change like everyone says it will. and he cant wait anymore but realizes that there is nothing else to lose or gain if he walks away again. also, almost forgot, the first verse where it says "Slipped away, fell away, tried to play yourself No turning back, all alone And there's nobody else Who even knows I'm missing" hes actually believed before but fell away, which also comes in again on the second verse. last one, "cant believe this chance were taking" the "chance" is thinking Jesus is not the answer, thinking theres something else. hes knows, he feels that its right, but the enemy is steppin in planting seeds of doubt into his head. if anyone thinks otherwise please comment and explain the lines better than that. thank you for reading. God bless

Actually, I believe lricci is right. It really may be about a relationship with Jesus.

Oh, and, by the way, this song rocks.

"I and I" is a term the Rastas use for God. They also use "Jah" which is just a shortening of Jahova. so a lot of Christian artists like POD and Christafari, who use a lot of reggae-type beats and music, will use those terms^^.

    so yeah..definately about God..no doubt^^.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
