I’ll take what I can get
I’m not that greedy yet.
I know it’s lonely at the top
But you can afford it.
I’ll take what I can get
I’m not that greedy yet
I know it’s lonely at the top
But you can afford it.
When I ride,
Drink champagne until sunrise.
When we’re drunk,
You don’t care,
Comes to find us.
We tell them,
Telling jokes takes out the fun.
We’ll be laughing when the punch line comes.
Let them drown in their own tears
‘Cause they deserve it.
And the fact that what they love’s
What killed them, it’s ironic.
Into the top of the highest skyscraper,
Climb at once.
Because that’s where they spire,
It’s where they should jump from.

General CommentI'm guessing it's about a guy named Bill who rises then falls... in other words, I really have no idea. Well, I have some obscure thoughts about it, but none that seems relevant to the entire song, so I'll just keep them to myself. Great song, though, none-the-less.

General CommentIt's about greedy rich people. At least, I'm pretty damn sure that's what it's about. Big Japan is

General Commenti guess, that the song is about the fact that it doesn't matter how high you rise. You could fall every time, and then everybody loves and your are kind of alone. that is what i woild say. i guessed..

And this song reminds me of a movie I saw a few years ago. I can't recall the title, though.

General CommentThe lyrics are mostly correct ... minus one line. This is one of my favorite songs of all time :)

I’ll take what I can get,

    But you can afford it.

The addendum to the joke takes out the fun,
We’ll be laughing when the punch line comes.

Let them drown in their own tears
    ‘Cause they deserve it.
And the fact that what they love is what killed them, is ironic.

Into the top of the highest skyscraper,
    Climb at once.
    Because that’s where they aspire,
It’s where they should jump from.
