It’s no wonder we’re all scared when our submission makes demands
and who the hell are you is it asked or forced to do
Do you pray for holiness or just prey on my willingness
to starve beg consume for something you can’t prove
If I’m unworthy it’s you that brought me here
I sacrificed so much just to let you own my fears
Please don’t let go of me
And I will carry on with your burden on my shoulders
Where’s the white washed tomb out of which your god’s been exhumed
A corpse to force my guilt through lips you thought you sealed
And sins you cant let go have blinded you on your throne
And left me here alone.

While god sleeps the righteous feed upon the meek.
What kind of father sits and lets his children bleed?
Don’t just stand there show us all if this is true—
That your love and mercy isn’t for a chosen few

General CommentThis is a tough just looks to me like a big struggle with religion. He believes but is very skeptical (If I'm unworthy, its you that brought me here -> Please don't let go of me), seeks proof he knows he will not get, and accuses religious figures of "preying on willingness". A sort of challange to God it would seem to take command of His kingdom.

General Commenti agree with rjg237. it does seem like he's struggling with religion. like he doesn't really know what to believe in.

General CommentI'd agree but what really pist me off is that they released this song a long time ago with different lyrics! and honestly the old song was soooo much better than this. It sounded more honest. It's like they wanted to keep an aspect of the old sound but with a modern "twist". Boy sets fire was once my favorite band but this new album is a steamy pile of trying-to-sound-like-the-radio bullshit. to top it off it's cheezy as hell and just sounds fake.
