"Better Part Of Me" as written by and Fleetwood,ansley/stampley,joe....
Given the space and the time now removed given a gift I can feel
Looking through choices
We made just to live
Looking back now at the reasons they give I start to breathe
It shows in me
A better part of me

All of my instincts and all of my pride
Tell me the way it should be
As I remember
I barely recall
Something that changed me
You took it for all you took from me
Until you see
A better part of me

Now whenever you start it moving
Tell me what you need
Soon if only all you know
Maybe not indeed

Peering out over the mountains of fear
Seeing them as they appear
Grasping for vision
In a valley of lies
To bring down the mountain
I must close my eyes
So I might see
So I might free
A better part of me

Now whenever you start it moving
Tell me what you need
Soon if only all you know
Maybe not indeed

General CommentI love the vivid symbolism at the end of this song. The “mountains of fear” are a barrier that cuts you off from the truth (“grasping for vision”). If you cannot master your fears, the remaining path is the “valley of lies”, being dishonest with yourself and others. To break out of this cycle, you must look within yourself, accept yourself with all your faults (“to bring down the mountain/ I must close my eyes”), and you will be a stronger person (“so I might see/ so I might free/ a better part of me”). I’m not sure how to interpret the rest of it, but it’s sure nice to listen to.
