"Beg" as written by Felix Howard, Peter John Vettese and Leon Jean Marie....
There's a lit cigaretteâ?¦in the hand of my new angel
She's blowing smoke like halos, and now everybody wants her
But I shouldn't even bother
Because you made me so complete dear, but you left me so alone here
Hang a noose for my new sinner somewhere everyone can see it

Won't you beg me and then tell me how to love you
Like anybody else would
I know you're risking failure (risking failure)
Go run for cover (for how long)
You better start to love her so much you're moving on and on

Now there's a whole wide world...that wants to know
Have cheap hotels lost their turn-on? she's bathing in the neon
And she's polluting all the airways while I'm passed out in the hallway
And you left me so in love here, you left with so much hate dear
Was I creating only chaosâ??this world lives just fine without usâ?¦won't you?

Beg me and then tell me how to love you
Like anybody else would
I know you're risking failure (risking failure)
Go run for cover (for how long)
You better start love her so much you're moving on and on

Will it change your life if I change my mind?
When she's lit the whole wide world
I want to know if you will beg me and then tell me how to love you
Like anybody else would
I know you're risking failure, (risking failure) but I'd hope you set your levels (for how long)
So you can run for cover
You better start to love her
Now are we this pathetic? you made me finally see it
(Will it change your life when I change my mind, will it change your mind when I change my life)

Go run for cover
You better start to love her so much you're moving on
I'm so pathetic, you made me finally see it
Got what you want? I'm gone

For how long? for how long? for how long will it change your life?

General CommentAwesome song...best off the album. I found out though that the last chorus is wrong

    go run for cover
you better start to love her so much you're moving on
I'm so pathetic, you made me finally see it
got what you want? I'm gone

"You better start to love her" is actually "You better fuckin' love her"

My OpinionI think it's about a guy who feels unworthy of a girl who is, to anybody else, imperfect. He loves her and wants to be with her more than anything else, but at the same time he pushes her away to keep her from getting hurt by him. He's telling the guy she's with to love her and make her happy because that's something he could never do.
I'm not great at explaining things, so I'll give it a quick rundown. (Yes this will be long. Just bear with me a bit.)

There's a lit cigarette, in the hand of my new angel.
She's blowing smoke like halos, and now everybody wants her,
    But I shouldn't even bother.
-Here he's talking about how she's perfect even with her imperfections.

'Cause you made me so complete dear, but you left me so alone here.
Hang a noose for my new sinner somewhere everyone can see it.
-This is where he pushes her away. I'm guessing she got angry and he regrets making her leave.

Won't you beg me and then tell me how to love you?
    Like anybody else would.
-I think he's talking to both himself and her, trying to find a way for him to love her without hurting her.

    I know you're risking failure.
-This is the part that always gets me. He KNOWS that he's risking losing her forever, but he still tries to find a way to love her.

    Go run for cover.
You better start to love her so much you're moving on and on.
-He's still telling her to run and telling her new boyfriend to love her in a way that won't hurt her.

Now there's a whole wide world...that wants to know.
Have cheap hotels lost their turn-on?
    She's bathing in the neon.
And she's polluting all the airways, while I'm passed out in the hallway.
-This is the part where he realizes that he wasn't helping her by pushing her away. Instead of making her happy, his absence made her seek more self-destructive ways of replacing him. At first, it was fun for her, but now it's lost it's "Turn-on"

And you left me so in love here, you left with so much hate dear.
    Was I creating only chaos?
This world lives just fine without us.
    Won't you?
-He's saying that this world is better off without the two of them together and he's asking her why she isn't better without him.

Will it change your life if I change my mind?
When she's lit the whole wide world,
I want to know...if you will.
-He's telling her that it won't do any good for her to ask him to change his mind now. He knows it's already too late. The damage has been done.

Beg me and then tell me how to love you.
    like anybody else would.
I know you're risking failure, but I'd hope you set your levels.
So you can run for cover.
You better start to love her.
    Now are we this pathetic?
You made me finally see it.
-He beats himself up because he sees how foolish he was. He sees that, by leaving her, he caused her more pain and ended up hurting himself too. He realizes that he was pathetic.

    Go run for cover
You better fucking love her so much you're moving on.
    I'm so pathetic!
You made me finally see it!
    Got what you want?
    I'm gone.
-I'm thinking that this was directed to both the girl and her current boyfriend. He was telling the boyfriend to love her so much that she would move on and that he was gone for good.

    For how long?
    For how long?
    For how long?
    Will it change your life?
-I think this was like a conversation between her and him. She was asking him how long it would be before he came back to her and he was asking her if it would really change her life. I like to imagine a girl standing there watching the love of her life walk away and suddenly she asks him how long before he came back to her, because both of them know that they will never be able to stay apart. She's telling him that she will be willing to wait as long as it takes. He would look over his shoulder and ask her if it would really change her life if he came back or not.

General CommentHey everyone...I had the chance to see EvansBlue and Taproot in Grand Rapids, Michigan just recently. EvansBlue is awesome. I got a copy of their CD given to me by a local radio station in Grand Rapids, and it rocks. It is a solid CD...all the songs are good on it. They are definately on their way to hitting it really big!!! Taproot rocked also and it was amazing to see both of them at the same time. Take care and have a good day.
