Only the beautiful drink from the bottle
The samurais kiss their katana blades
And the choir boys rinse
The priests blackened fist because dead men cannot swim
And our ties were sharp
We aint hip Anymore
Armies marched for days alone in beautiful glorified haze
Bullets shrapnel and dust, painted people with English splayed guts
Dogs chew the cusp between bitter licks..
Why, he screamed, the hospitals burning..move on
Why, he beamed?.we're replicas!
And if I brought you diamond rings
Or a box of ancient gold
Would you bring me back?
And if I held the witches tooth
Or the emperors last touch
Would you steal me back
Give me blood through your drip
And I'll give you a soul.
If you keep your promises I promise we'll turn gold??

General CommentSomething in the middle after "dogs chew the cusp between bitter licks"

Vampires......feasting and fucking on everything? Baby?

    after "we're replicas"

    The river's dry...fuck the demons?

General CommentI used to listen to this song like any other Johnny Truant song: Completely unaware of the lyrics. They didn't want me to know the lyrics of the first album, and I figured to hell with the sophomore. Anyways, these are good lyrics and this song had a fantastic impact on me eventhough I didn't get more than a few words. The lyrics don't supprise me - I knew Johnny Truant would write stuff like this. The song - I think - is about dreaming yourself back in time and wanting the war and bloodshed from the old days, because it reminds you of being alive. And what do one do to get that same feeling of living?
