"Burning Benches" as written by Matthew Greener, Christopher Wheatcroft, Tom Derrett and Alistair Clewer....
Let us make amends,
We're not overly good friends,
But its not heaven without you.
You can have it all,
We'll see mountains fall,
But its not heaven without you.

It's the symphony distorting,
When were not talking,
But its not heaven, without you.

There's just something different,
With the air about you,
The signs, the shapes, the numbers,
None of them give me a clue
You can have it all

And I'm not burning benches
Cos the ash would make me choke
It was me who always spluttered every time we spoke,
You can have it all

General Commentbrilliant song, about obsession and unreturned love, and according to the band emotionally influenced by the David Lynch film 'Eraser Head'. Why aren't MR huge yet?

General CommentI think its more than just unreturned love, I think that the relationship has other problems, where he says: We’ll see mountains fall. is like saying he want to try again and the problems (mountains) will go away. Also I think he is blaming himself for these problems where in the last verse he says: It was me who always spluttered
Every time we spoke. as if to say he messed it up.

To sum it up, to me this song is His plea to try again, asking for a second chance... well thats my 2cents. someone else have ago. this song is amazing!

    General CommentOkay, so your proberly all right. But I personally think this song has the most PERFECT line ever wrote in musical form;
'Its a symphony distorting, when we're not talking'
(I even had those words tattoo'd on me!)
They are sooooo powerful! And some everything bad that happens in a relationship up!
A symphony = Something beautiful. Potentially amazing. (The relationship)
Distorting when we're not talking = Is being ruined by the silence, by not talking the 'symphony' isnt being allowed to be that amazing and beautiful thing!

    That's how I feel anyway!

Bloody amazing song tho! Love it !!!!!

General CommentI can't believe this band have split!! this song is one of my very favourites. was me nd my ex's song so it means quite a lot to me. I like the idea of this being about giving someone a second chance because we all need one at some point!
ITS NOT HEAVEN WITHOUT MORNING RUNNER!!
