"Telegraph Avenue Kiss (Demo)" as written by and Geoffrey/keeley Rickly....
She's the song that you tried to sing,
And the note that you couldn't hit.
So you locked her up in a music box,
And turned the key on all of us.

She spins silver strings in the dark,
With metal teeth that ring in her heart.
When the cover drops, the world just fades away from her waiting for her to say it:

[Chorus]
K-I-S-S I'm in distress,
I need someone to spell it out
You know our love's not unconditional.

A book of matches and a cigarette,
A love note that you never sent,
You can fold it up but you won't forget

You can strike a match but it still might not light
Now I'm the one stuck inside this silver cage,
The bird that can't fly away clips it's wings if it sings of the way, the way that it hurt
Waiting for her to say it:

[Chorus]

Low f-I-d-e-l-I-t-y do all love songs turn out this way? can't you hear me when I say:
You're in my heart, in my hands, around my neck.

We move like a carousel,
Streak lights and mirrors fill our eyes.
It's time to let this go,
But we can't stop spinning around

General CommentBasically to me this song is about using someone else, but it's not horrible but you do really love them for it...

there were two spots where I didn't know what he said, if anyone does, I'd welcome the input.

General CommentI'm not sure but i'm pretty sure at the first (?) he is saying "in her heart."

and at the second part (?emphasis?) i believe he says "clip it's wings if it sings..."

So this song is pretty fucking amazing, I really hope they put this on the new CD. The part where Geoff goes "you're in my heart, in my hands, in my lungs" is great, I love that part. His voice has improved so much. I cannot wait till May when this CD comes out.

General CommentI'm pretty sure those lyrics arent right...

I got this when i wrote down the lyrics

She's the song that you tried to sing
Another note that you couldnt hit
So you locked her up in a music box
Turned the key on all of us
She spins silver strings in the dark
With metal teeth that ring in her heart
When the cover drops the world just floats away [x3] from her
Waiting [x3] for her to see it

    Doesnt matter what you say
Doesnt matter what you think you need
You know our loves' not unconditional

A book of matches and a cigarette
A love note that youll never send
You can fold it up but you wont forget
You can strike a match but it still might not light
Now I'm the one that's stuck inside the silver cage
The bird that cant fly away
Clip its wings if it sings of the way [x3] that it hurts
Waiting [x3] for her to see it

    Doesnt matter what you say
Doesnt matter what you think you need
You know our loves' not unconditional

    Doesnt matter what you say
Doesnt matter what you think you need
You know our loves' not unconditional

The music box is open, its spinning with the room
If your the record playing I'm the needle and the groove
    Listen to the sound
    Your in my heart
    In my hands
    In my lungs
    We move like a carousel
Streaked lights and mirrors in our eyes
Its time to let this go
    Can't stop spinning around [x11]

You know our loves' not unconditional
    Unconditional love, unconditional
You know our loves' not unconditional

General CommentI made the appropriate corrections. You've got a good ear. I should've noticed some of those lyrics earlier.

General CommentI think its about that the singing person is in love with some1 but that person doesnt love him back. THey just wanne stay friends or something but he wants more 'THe love is not unconditional'

You can fold it up but you won’t forget
You can strike a match but it still might not light
Now I’m the one that’s stuck inside, the silver cage
The bird that can’t fly away

this bit refers to how he can try to hide the fact that he's in love but it wont go away and that he can try to get a relationship going but it just wont happen etc. Thats what this song means to me

General CommentI love this version 10000x better than telegraph, the chorus is much more meaningful, and I don't dig the spelling shit out. "doesn't matter what you say, doesn't matter what you think you need, you know our love's not unconditional" is an incredibly powerful verse and I'm really upset that they took it out. Whatever, I fell in love with the demos anyway, there's no changing my mind.
