"Melt the Sugar" as written by and Luke Walker....
This is the sweetest moment
This is what we both wanted
We are the same
But we're so different

I untie your shoelaces
We touch each other's faces
We start to sweat
And the sky turns red

Tell me that you know
Life's not fair
If we're gonna make it
Then we're halfway there
Tell me that you know
That I really care
I swear

[Chorus]
Let's melt the sugar
Under the meteor shower
On the hottest night
In July
A sticky altar
There's nothing but a towel spread out
As we both lie
We'll melt the sugar

It's melting on our faces
It's running down our places
That we both hide in the dark tonight
(Yes, I want you)
This is the way we do things
(Yes, I need you)
Spontaneous, exciting
(Sweat pours down my face)
I wish the world was always this inviting

Tell me that you know
Life's not fair
If we're gonna make it
Then we're halfway there
Tell me that you know
That I really care
I swear

[Chorus]

Tell me that you know
Life's not fair
If we're gonna make it
Then we're halfway there
Tell me that you know
That I really care
I swear

[Chorus]

(Sugar)
Let's melt the sugar
(Sugar)
Let's melt the sugar
(Sugar)

    General Commentdefinately about sex
"lets melt the sugar" means something like "lets make love"
there prolly doin it at the beach too"hottest night in july"& "towel spread out...as we both lie"
and then "running down our places" ahem 'places' that "we both hide in the dark tonight"
"untie your shoelaces" ahduhh means getting into her pants
"spontaneous exciting" as in orgasms maybe?
it makes sense when it says "if we're gonna make it then we're halfway there" because if their relationship is gonna make it then having sex is gettin through half of it
    i think im right
    =D

General CommentI like this song, even if it is about sex. I didn't understand at first, but when I started to read the lyrics and stuff I'm like "oh...that's what it means..."

    General Commentjust got married..
got married so.. they are half way there..
i think it's on the 4th of july. [sky turns red, hottest night could mean hot like fire like.. fireworks??]
and i untie your shoelaces.. like.. i can now.. because we are married, and i never have before..
and melting the sugar is like.. their virginity is as sweet as sugar so they are melting it away..

    so basically..
we just got married, come on let's lose our virginity on the 4th of july

spontanous, exciting.. like.. they got married on the spur of the moment.. how exciting?!?!

General Commentthis song is about frebasing. "i untie your shoelaces
" being used to cut off the circulation...the words he uses to describe the high such as "its melting on our faces its running down our places" is talking about the sweat form the high
