As we sift through the hourglass
We realize that an hour's passed
And not a person here is innocent
We're both as guilty as a sin

It must have rained all through the night
The tires just couldn't grip right
So I took another long sip
And wiped away my chapped lips

This is how it ends
We believe every lie and say we'll be friends
How long will it last
Before we scratch all the scripts and we rework the cast?

As the hour met the minute hand
We kept racing through this foreign land
With no direction or a telephone
Together we were all alone

That's when the puzzle was finally pieced
We compromised until our bodies seized
To some we seem like colder creatures
Well, we were warm until we went to hell

This is how it ends
We believe every lie and say we'll be friends
How long will it last
Before we scratch all the scripts and we rework the...

Cast the first stone
Let's pretend that we don't have a past
The worst one
Forbid, forbid, forget that you exist

Cast the first stone
Let's pretend that we don't have a past
The worst one

General CommentI think this song is about looking back at your mistakes and realizing that you can't dwell in them. Yeah, everyone makes mistakes, but you can't let these mistakes control your life forever. Eventually you have to let go of them and continue to live your life. Just a thought.

General CommentIt seems like the end of a relationship, "every lie and say we'll be friends" And "another long sip...chapped lips" could be referring to a kiss maybe?

Rework the past, pretend we don't have a past might mean trying to forget that they ever dated, hoping to hold onto the friendship?

Compromised until our bodies siezed could be something like setting down some kind of rules to be friends, and the part about being "colder creatures" could refer to coldness of heart as they pretended not to have feelings for each other

General Commenta relationship ends, seemingly on good terms.
    "This is how it ends
We believe every lie and say we'll be friends "

both sides believe that a friendship could work out.

then he tries to completely scratch the girl out of his life and "forget that [she] exists"

General Commenti believe this is about unavoiding the akward stage after you break up with a bf/gf.

"That’s when the puzzle was finally pieced
We compromised until our bodies siezed
To some we seem like colder creatures well
We were warm until we went to hell"

i imagine that the lines about talk about post break up sex, when the feelings are there, but both individuals are confuised about thir position they hold with eachother.

can it really go back to the way it was before they dated?

General Comment"Scratch all the scripts and we rework the CAST" not past. Or the song wouldnt make sence when it says "How long will it last before we scratch all the scripts and we rework the cast the first stone lets pretend that we dont have a past"

General CommentThis song conjures up for me an image of a couple breaking up, or realizing that they should break up. They argue, accuse each other, feel icy inside. They say they'll stay friends, but come on, be serious, right?

General CommentThis song makes me very sad. It is just so beautiful and it explains my life perfectly, and I don't even need to be talking about my relationships because friendships that have drama (with the opposite sex or whatever you're into) make people feel that way also. Yay hush.
