"Love in a car" as written by and Guy Chadwick....
My love in a car
We're gonna go far
It's a beautiful car
My love

You touch, I dream
No words
Just the faintest glow
My love in a car

It's so deep here
Just let your sweat
Fall on me

We stared at the trees
They seemed to be
Bare as a desert breeze

At night now, it's cold
I feel just like
Yesterday's boy
My love in a car

Licked my fingers
And I drove my car
To the sea

My love in a car
She'd go far

Deeper than any sea
Deeper than any sea
Deeper than any sea

General CommentThis band has sooo many beautiful, perfect pop songs, but nothing touches this one, to me. It's otherworldly and just feels like distilled yearning. (What happened? Did he lose the girl? Was she *ever* his? Who knows?) Such a perfect, dreamy, cathartic song to listen to over and over and over as a tormented, love-sick teen... and what's this, Google? These guys are back? I have to check 'em out...

General CommentI used to be in love with an old BMW 3.0 si from 1972 and i was 19 and really did love that car - washed and polished it incessantly....this was my favourite song at that time - was pure love - these lyrics were just perfect - me and my love driving off to sea..... never have i ever got such purel feelings like that again. The car was a wreck rust bucket and died and that was that....devastation.
