In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
Me quieren agitar
Me incitan a gritar
Soy como una roca
Palabras no me tocan
Adentro hay un volcán
Que pronto va a estallar
Yo quiero estar tranquilo
Es mi situación
Una desolación
Soy como un lamento
Lamento boliviano
Que un día empezó
Y no va a terminar
Y a nadie hace daño
Y yo estoy aquí
Borracho y loco
Y mi corazón idiota
Siempre brillará
Y yo te amaré
Te amaré por siempre
Nena, no te peines en la cama
Que los viajantes se van a atrasar
Y hoy estoy aquí
Borracho y loco
Y mi corazón idiota
Siempre brillará
Y yo te amaré
Te amaré por siempre
Nena, no te peines en la cama
Que los viajantes se van a atrasar
Y yo estoy aquí
Borracho y loco
Y mi corazón idiota
Siempre brillará
Y yo te amaré
Te amaré por siempre
Nena, no te peines en la cama
Que los viajantes se van a atrasar
Me incitan a gritar
Soy como una roca
Palabras no me tocan
Adentro hay un volcán
Que pronto va a estallar
Yo quiero estar tranquilo
Es mi situación
Una desolación
Soy como un lamento
Lamento boliviano
Que un día empezó
Y no va a terminar
Y a nadie hace daño
Y yo estoy aquí
Borracho y loco
Y mi corazón idiota
Siempre brillará
Y yo te amaré
Te amaré por siempre
Nena, no te peines en la cama
Que los viajantes se van a atrasar
Y hoy estoy aquí
Borracho y loco
Y mi corazón idiota
Siempre brillará
Y yo te amaré
Te amaré por siempre
Nena, no te peines en la cama
Que los viajantes se van a atrasar

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
Magical
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
translation:
they want me to be disturbed they insist that i scream i am like a rock their words don't touch me inside there is a volcano that soon is going to explode I want to be calm
my situation is desolate i am as I regret, a bolivian regret that my day begins and it's not going to end and it hurts no one
and here i am drunk and crazy and my stupid heart will always shine and I will love you I will love you forever baby, don't comb in the bed because the travellers will leave late

I came up with this translation.... Love this song.
Me quieren agitar (they want to disturbme) me insitan a gritar (they urge me to scream) soy como una roca palabras no me tocan (I'm like a rock word don't touch me) adentro hay un volcan (inside there's a volcano) que pronto va a estallar (that will soon blow-out) yo quiero estar tranquilo... (I want to be calm...)
Es mi situación una desolación (it's my situation a desolation) soy como un lamento, lamento boliviano (I'm like a moan, a bolivian moan) que un día empezo y no va a terminar (that one day began and it won't end) y a nadie hace daño... (and it makes no one harm)
Y yo estoy aquí (and I'm here) borracho y loco (drunk and crazy) y mi corazón idiota (and my idiot heart) siempre brillará (will always shine) y yo te amaré (and I will love you) te amaré por siempre (I will love you forever) nena no te peines en la cama (baby, don't comb in the bed) que los viajantes se van a atrasar... (as the travelers will slow down)
Ooo Y yo estoy aquí (and I'm here) borracho y loco (drunk and crazy) y mi corazón idiota (and my idiot heart) siempre brillará (will always shine) y yo te amaré (and I will love you) te amaré por siempre (I will love you forever) nena no te peines en la cama (baby, don't comb in the bed) que los viajantes se van a atrasar... (as the travelers will be late)
Y yo estoy aquí (and I'm here) borracho y loco (drunk and crazy) y mi corazón idiota (and my idiot heart) siempre brillará (will always shine) y yo te amaré (and I will love you) te amaré por siempre (I will love you forever) nena no te peines en la cama (baby, don't brush your hair bed) que los viajantes se van a atrasar... (as the travelers will be late)
"and my heart, you idiot." hes calling the one that left him an idiot
nah, i'm pretty sure he's calling his heart an idiot for being unable to forget who ever it is he's trying to forget. you know, like when you wish you didn't love someone but you do anyway.
this is one of the best songs i know and one of the most difficult to understand..
the most confusing part for me is why is it a Bolivian regret? they're from Argentina so its not because they're from Bolivia..
and why are the travelers delayed just because she's brushing her hair??
also is he calling someone else and idiot or just saying that his heart is stupid??
i guess when
he tells her not to comb her hair in the bed
he means
dont rush they wont be here soon
but i dont knoe what or who the travelers are?
and what is the point of the bolivian lament?
In latin american music a Lamento is a type of song.
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the spanish travelers/conquistadores...
(the video has alot to explain if you watch it)
youtube.com/watch
it shows how in Latin America we worship the lighter of skin!
The song is pretty much about the opression by whites to the indigenous people... and how they are push to the edge of revolt (first verse)
There's an old wives tale that if you comb your hair in bed, you'll get pregnant and the travelers refers to her menstrual cycle.
So he's telling her not to get pregnant or she'll miss her period.
also do you notice the andean flutes playing at the beginning and at the end? the song is also dedicated to the indigenous people of latin america...
ahhh i supose anyone of you are latin americans, am i wrong?
the song express the words of a drunk person it doesn't mean anything aparentely but it repeats words that are common in alcoholics you know the sensation of being invincible, the flashback of memories, and the inevitable part where you start to say words without sense.
the lyrics are "too easy" the music is a tribute to the indigenous people of central america
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the spanish travelers/conquistadores...
(the video has alot to explain if you watch it)
youtube.com/watch
it shows how in Latin America we worship the lighter of skin!
The song is pretty much about the opression by whites to the indigenous people...
and the song it's dedicated to ALL INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ON LATIN AMERICA not just Mexico.
