"Who Am I" as written by Francis Eg White and Lucie Joanne Silverman....
Sometimes you know you push me so hard
I don't know how I feel
You almost make me doubt I feel at all

It's not as though I always listen
But there's just so much I don't hear
Maybe I'll never be what you want
I know that all you're asking for
Is a little place in my heart
But I don't find it easy to give

Maybe I get a little selfish sometimes
Why shouldn't I?
I used to say I love you
But would it make a difference this time?

[Chorus]
And who am I to tell you that I would never let you down
That no-one else could love you half as much as I do now?
And who am I to tell you I'll always catch you when you fall?
Well I, I wouldn't be myself at all
I wouldn't be myself at all, at all

I always find a reason why I didn't put you first
It's not that complicated I know
I really hate it when you shake your head like this ain't gonna work
Maybe you'll never reap what you sow

[Chorus]

I didn't want to do what everybody does
And hide the truth to find we never knew a thing about love
'Cause this is real life, real love
And knowing what it comes down to
It just might be enough

[Chorus x 2]

General Commenti adore this song & im so glad he's releasing it! to me its about how he thought he really did love someone but maybe he doesn't love them quite as much as he thought he did? hmm not really too sure though. the lasy verser however makes me think its about his relationships as a homosexual and how he doesn't want to " do what everybody does"?

General CommentThis song is gorgeous! and the video is so sweet too.
I agree with finallyfree about the last verse, but about the song, I think its about saying I love you to someone, and knowing that that love for them makes you, you. About knowing that, anybody else could say it and not mean it, but him saying it, is like him baring a special part of him. :) I really love it!

General Commentto me, this song is about someone who keeps getting confused about how they feel, and theyve done wrong in the past - "who am i to tell you that i would never let you down?" but they know that they're in the wrong and are sorry. i think its a great song asking for forgiveness without actually saying the word sorry.

General CommentThis song was played on the radio when I'd fallen out with my best friend and it was like i could relate to it.
I couldn't tell them how i felt 'cause i didn't know myself all i knew was that i loved them but we'd fell out before and resolved it easily but that time i didn't think it was so easy and they said i was being selfish and i know i was.
I dunno i just related my situation to this song and i really love it.

General CommentThis song is amazingly touching...I don't know this guy very much, but this lyrics and his voice make it so special. To me (the way I relate to it) it's about a complex relationship...where both of them have been deceived by meaningless words. He feels like no matter what he says, the person won't give him a chance or won't even believe what he says. It's so hurting when you somehow 'know' that the relationship has no future because of what happened in the past. Just like in real life, it's not that easy to get a chance and try despite the differences...:(

Who am I? after all, you won't believe me anyway...

General CommentWhat I get from the song is that he keeps hurting a particualr person that he really loves, despite that he keeps hurting that person. He doesnt want to make any promises and pretend that everything will be ok when he doesnt trust himself to make it so.
Also I see it from the view that a person is confused as to how they feel about a somebody that they know feels something for them so again dont want to make any promises and hurt said person.

General CommentOn a purely personal level I relate to this song about my wife. I just feel like...

And who am I to tell you that I would never let you down?
That no-one else could love you half as much as I do now
And who am I to tell you I'll always catch you when you fall?
Well I, I wouldn't be myself at all
I wouldn't be myself at all, at all.

If I told her that then

'I wouldn't be myself at all.'

but the lyrics express how I truly feel.

General CommentI think this song is about someone's feelings towards someone, but they can't be expressed because of his failings. Basically, the singer has all these faults that he feels make him unworthy of saying he will never let his partner down, or no one will love her as much as him. In the end though he realises that it's real life and everyone has failings, and it's real love so his failings account for nothing.

General CommentThis is a beautiful song. I believe the meaning is that he truly does love someone but continues to hurt them, not intentionally. There is a sense that he is trying to rectify his mistakes but he says 'who am i to tell you i will never let you down' acknowledging the fact that he will hurt this person. Although it does feel as if the singer has feelings for who he is singing to you can tell that he is not strong enough to give and commit fully not enabling the relationship to flourish. He is trying to express his feelings but is left frustrated.
