"She Moves in Her Own Way" as written by Max Rafferty and Luke Pritchard....
So at my show on Monday
I was told that someday
You'd be on your way to better things
It's not about your make-up
Or how you try to shape up
To these tiresome paper dreams
Paper dreams honey

So now you pour your heart out
You're telling me you're far out
You're all about to lie down for your cause
But you don't pull my strings
Cause I'm a better man
Moving on to better things

But uh oh, I love her because
She moves in her own way
But uh oh, she came to my show
Just to hear about my day

And at the show on Tuesday
She was in her mindset
Tempered firs and spangled boots
Looks are deceiving
Making me believe it
And these tiresome paper dreams
Paper dreams honey, yeah

So won't you go far
Tell me you're a keeper
You're all about to lie down for your cause
But you don't pull my strings because
'Cause I'm a better man
Moving on to better things

But uh oh, I love her because
She moves in her own way
But uh oh, she came to my show
Just to hear about my day

Yes our wish's that we never made it
Through all the summers
We kept them up instead of
Kicking us back down to the suburbs
Yes our wish's that we never made it
Through all the summers
We kept them up instead of
Kicking us back down to the suburbs

But uh oh, I love her because
She moves in her own way
But uh oh, she came to my show
Just to hear about my day

But uh oh, I love her because
She moves in her own way
But uh oh, she came to my show
Just to hear about my day

General CommentThis song in my opinion is a song he's singing to an ex. About his new girlfriend.
"I love her because she moves in her own way" saying that he loves this new girl because she is different. This song just hit home the moment I heard it. It couldn't be any closer to that meaning for me.
Now he's just saying "now you pour your heart out tellin me you're far out, not about to lie down for your cause", "oh ah oh, I love her because, she moves in her own way", besically just saying you're back complaining now telling me you can't handle it but not willing to make the effort. Have fun, correct the lyrics. Laterz!

Song Meaningthe song is definatley about katie muela cause he says in a interview half of the album the songs i wrote were abt the relationship with me n katie n the reason they split up was becasue of they were both getting big in the music and touring alot so didnt see much of each other and katie decided it was best if they split up but luke didnt agree so he says like how cares im a beter man moving on to beter things and there was no new girl for a long while he was too buisyy with his music .its also an amazing song the lyrics are amazing especially at tht age and the song is abt her being different n standing out n stuff and luke loves being different also paper dreams obviasly mean magazine girls which he h8s and his lyrics just make total scence and hes an amazing musician

General CommentI like this song. I decided to start listening to the Kooks cause I heard them in a commercial. It was this song and it was like a girl razor commercial.
I like this song because to me. Its the same girl.
My girlfriend was wrapped up in being the perfect one that it was a turnoff. The reason I liked her was because "she moved in her own way" and with her trying to be that perfect girlfriend it was just straining the relationship.

She got over that though and realized what was happening as she tried to be better and started being herself again. I love her so much!

General Commentit's about not going with the flow, doing what you want, and being different. this girl doesnt dress and look like 'paper dreams' - the girls we see in magazines. i think being yourself is much much cooler. reminds me of a special someone :-) xx this is my favourite kooks song, along with 'i want you back'.
