"It Is Well With My Soul" as written by Unknown Writer,, Philip Paul Bliss and Horatio G. Spafford....
When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
What ever my lot you have taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul

Though the devil will ruin, though trials may come
Let this blessed assurance control
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate
And He shed His own blood for my soul

It is well, with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

My sin, oh the bliss of this glorious thought
My sin not in part but the whole
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, oh my soul

It is well, with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

And Lord haste the day when my faith shall be sight
And the clouds be rolled back as a scroll
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend
Even so, it is well with my soul

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

General CommentThis version is more upbeat than Audio Adrenaline's version off of 'Underdog.' This song has a sunshine feel to it.

General CommentThe band actually recorded this version of the song under protest. They were working on their hymns album, "Redemption Songs", with minimal help from the label, who wasn't really interested in the project, and deemed it too downbeat and depressing to be something they'd be interested in releasing. The label asked the band to try recording an upbeat take on "It Is Well", something that they could potentially use as a radio single, so the band went ahead and did it despite not really agreeing with the idea, which is why the mood of the music here (with the happy Beatlesque melodies and all that) doesn't really fit the lyrics of this classic hymn.
