Once there came a storm in the form of a girl
It blew to pieces my snug little world
Sometimes I swear I can still hear her howl
Down through the wreckage and the ruins

And it ain't gonna rain anymore
Now my baby's gone
And it ain't gonna rain anymore
Now my baby's gone

Now the storm has passed over me
I'm left to drift on a dead calm sea
And watch her forever through the cracks in the beams
Nailed across the doorways of the bedrooms of my dreams

And it ain't gonna rain anymore
Now my baby's gone
And it ain't gonna rain anymore
Now my baby's gone

Now I got no one to hold
Now I am all alone again
It ain't too hot but it ain't too cold
And there is no sign of rain

And it ain't gonna rain anymore
Now my baby's gone
And it ain't gonna rain anymore
Now my baby's gone
And I'm
Here I'm on my own

She ain't coming back no more
She ain't coming back no more
She ain't coming back no more
Say what you will, I don't care

And it ain't gonna rain anymore
Now my baby's gone, yeah
And it ain't gonna rain anymore
Now my baby has gone

General CommentThis song has one of the best opening lines of all time, yes of alltime:

Once there came a storm in the form of a girl
It blew to pieces my snug little world

This is quite an interesting song because of the way nick uses language. He personifies his lost love interest as a storm, and this coupled with the name of the song "ain't gonna rain anymore" means that his lover has left him and that she'll never be back, ain't gonna rain anymore

General Comment"It's very subtle, but it's definatly there?"

    hmmmm....

I understand that it can be interpreted that he killed her but I don't think that has to be necessarily so.

General CommentPersonally, I think he killed her. It's very subtle, but it's definitely there.

General CommentWell yes, you are right, but that's how I interpret it anyway. There's just something quietly sinister about the whole thing.

General CommentI agree with Songmeaningsuser, there's definitely something sinister about this song, especially in the delivery.

"Sometimes I swear I can still hear her howl"

Perhaps he killed her, and is haunted by the memory of her death?

General CommentI would agree that he killed her and that he's haunted by the memory. There's a certain feel to the music as well as the delivery (as the user above me pointed out) that supports this. Good song.
