Well I remember
you used to say that you you want
a revolution
Someday
funny how you thought you'd

Cause I remember you be tied down and screaming
I was this bad boy who never listened
Well no one else wanted the man who can't believe it
And you go down
After all this

Well I remember you be tied down and screaming

[chorus]
Santa Monica
Put up your hands
We surrounded your promised land
The British army
was wating for command
Santa Monica
you've got no chance

And the day was

After all these men go to their beds
And you wish they're back well
Well I remember you be tied down and screaming

[chorus]
Santa Monica
Put up your hands
We surrounded your promised land
British Army
wating for command
Santa Monica
you've got no chance

And the day ends

With sound
All horizons go out with the ground
And you wish you're back well
Well I remember you be tied down and screaming

[chorus]
Santa Monica
Put up your hands
We surrounded your promised land
The British army
wating for command
Santa Monica
you've got no chance

and you wish you're back well
and you wish you're back well
and you wish you're back well

and the day was
and the day was
and the day was

and the day ends when you're tied down and screaming

[chorus]
Santa Monica
Put up your hands
We surrounded your promised land
The British army
wating for command
Santa Monica
you've got no
chance

you've got no
chance
you've got no
chance
you've got no
you've got no
chance

General CommentSanta Monica Rugby Club has a tradition dating back to 1905 of playing the British Army in rugby. It's a popular destination for foreign rugby teams because, well, it's California. I think that's what this song is about

General CommentBritish Soldiers invaded Santa Monica, seemingly. But this is a very emotional and moving song I love it. Is this on Sounding A Mosaic?

General CommentI love this song and the feelings it portrays, and just how poetic and moving it is. It's definitely among my favorite soundclash songs.

I really wish I knew what they were talking about though, since Santa Monica was obviously never attacked by Britain. I want to know what inspired them to write the song and what it means.

General CommentI agree with you guys. I wonder if it has to do with like the invasion of like british music or something. I guess that's pretty farfetched but I was just thinking the revolution line is reminiscent of the Beatles, plus the whole british army thing. Such an epic song, I wish we knew what it was about!
