[They met back in school]

[She was a funny football fan girl]

[he didn't fear balls, he was the goal]

[What he promised was rides in Corvette]

[But for now, wearing tracksuits, he was stealing scooters]

[However between them there was always complicity]

Escale sur un piedestal un reve delimite

[Stop on a pedestal, a clear dream]

S'il devenait triangle, elle serait rectangle

[If he became triangle, she would be rectangle]

[The beauty and the bad boy, the triangular rectangle]

[It's like zapping from Joe Dassin to Jodeci]

Un vrai truc de ouf style pur clip de R&B

[A real story like pure R&B videoclipdramas ]

[She's living the great love, that begins in the schoolyard]

[Continues in the council flats and always rhymes with always ]

[But the context is sronger than the concept]

[Her man jumps into the flames and washes with them]

Chorus:

[The subsets in large housing get together]

La belle et le bad boy(x3)

[The beauty and the bad boy]

[The subsets in large housing get together]

[The subsets in large housing get together]

Pour gagner des sous ensemble

[To earn money together]

[Talk without pretending of doing "crapulous" things together]

Et si c'est sanglant. Ils plaident devant Dieu ensemble. Vu

[And if it gets bloody, they plead God together. See.]

Ils etait convaincant, elle etait convaicue

[They were convinving, She was convinced]

A croire qu'aujourd'hui s'arreter etait exclu

[Make believe that today, stopping was excluded]

[They traffic counterfeit money with Slavic networks]

[Denounce the competition. In France it's a serious offense]

Risque pour les pommettes,
[Risk for the cheekbones ]
les mecs sortent des Baumettes.
[guys are going out of the Baumettes (name of a jail in Marseille) ]

lui n'a qu'un truc en tete, c'est la quete de sa Corvette.
[He only thinks about one thing, the search for his Corvette ]

Ambiance paranoiaque. L'equipe adverse traine

[Paranoiac environment, the adverse team lags behind]

Des projectiles partent quand une BM freine

[Projectiles go off when a BMW brakes]

[When she falls, tears drops off his eyes]

Deux balles de 22. Vingt deux ans adieu

[Two .22 bullets. Twenty two(years old) Goodbye]

[The Context is stronger than the concept]

[Her man jumps into the flames He has to shower with them]

    General Commentgreat song.

I love the part where he sings about the boy having had tears in his eyes the moment the girl died.

it always reminds me of bonie & clyde. somehow.

I don't get what it means but it sounds pretty cool in a rap song. :D

General CommentFrom the first time i heard this song, i fell in love with it but the problem was that i couldn't find the song and i didn't know who sang it. i don't understand that much french but now i've read the lyrics here - this song is very touching. And the lyrics - a work of art. i agree with madrigal it does provoke a thought of bonnie and clyde into my head - it may be a french version of them. By the way the tune is great and i love the song.

Is very confusing. Maybe it means something like something inside these two different characters just seem to click and they fell in love.
    What i don't get is ....
[The Context is stronger than the concept]
    It's very confusing.

[Between a math class and a spanish class]

the actual translation is "between math detention and spanish class"
    "Colle" means detention

General CommentThis is in the last episode of Sex and The City and I loved it, always wondered who it was by. Then a friend made a CD of songs she liked and this was on it. I screamed when I realised it was on the CD! But looking at the English translation, its a strange, strange song...
