You make me breakfast in bed
When I'm mixed up in my head
You wake me with a kiss
I could get used to this

You think I look the best
When my hair is a mess
I can't believe you exist
I could get used to this

Because I know you're too good to be true
I must have done something good to meet you

'Cause you wrote my name across your hand
When I freak you understand
There is not a thing you miss
And I could get used to this

I'm feeling it comin' over me
With you it all comes naturally
Lost the reflex to resist
And I could get used to this

You love the songs I write
You like the movies I like
There must be some kind of twist
But I could get used to this

Because you listen to me when I'm depressed
It doesn't seem to make you like me less

'Cause you wrote my name across your hand
When I freak you understand
There is not a thing you miss
And I could get used to this

I'm feeling it comin' over me
With you it all comes naturally
Lost the reflex to resist
And I could get used to this

If there's a dark side to you I haven't seen it
Every good thing you do feels like you mean it

'Cause you wrote my name across your hand
When I freak you understand
There is not a thing you miss
And I could get used to this

I'm feeling it comin' over me
With you it all comes naturally
Lost the reflex to resist
And I could get used to this

'Cause you wrote my name across your hand
When I freak you understand
There is not a thing you miss
And I could get used to this

You make me breakfast in bed
When I'm mixed up in my head
You wake me with a kiss
And I could get used to this

    Isn't this song kinda dirty?

"I'm feeling it comin' over me With you it all comes naturally Lost the reflex to resist And I could get used to this"

Know what I mean? Subtle, but yeah.

okay... ya i do sense the subtle dirty undertone. but i stil think of it as SOOOO sooo cute. Wish this would happen to me, a guy actually treating me good. she doesn't trust it at first, but then she realizes that he's amazing, so she looses "the refelex to resist" -just adorable.

I think this song is really cute, I'm still not sure about my feelings toward The Veronicas, but I really love this song. Yeah, really because I can connect to it immensly with my relationship.

    But I think these lines:

"I'm feeling it comin' over me With you it all comes naturally Lost the reflex to resist And I could get used to this"

Reffers to the feelings of love. "I feel love all over my body." There's just that feeling of love you get, the jump, the glee, the happiness when you're overwhelemed with it. And usually you're just to stopping it before it gets the best of you. So you won't get hurt, you shield yourself from getting attached to the other person. But instead, she's lost the "reflex" to attack that feeling and instead... It's "all coming naturally". And surprisingly, she enjoys the feeling.

ok, see, this is MY song, cos when i see my boyfriend, this is how i feel!!!!!! I have read the other posts about the other Veronicas songs, and while i tend to agree with some of them, I think the mark of a really good song and writer is when they can capture a feeling within an audience/listeners life, where they can play to that feeling, and that is what these 2 have done!

Everlife covered it. The Veronicas are the original.

This song is good. The lyrics are explicitly written as well, so no need really for a discussion on what this song means.

It's a really good song, the drums and everything are perfect. What i don't like is when they sing it live many times they fuck it up because they get some bi chick to come up and sit next to them and then they kind of devote this song to her lol when the lyrics just fit so much better with a guy. Yes, i know Jess is bi but still, she should get the guys instead because it's just like that. The essence of the song and their voices and everything just screams 'REALLY NICE GUY'.

By the way, it's meant to be, 'Because you listen to me when I'm depressed', not, 'You kiss me listen to me when I'm depressed'.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
