Deep, dark well
It's a deep, dark well
It's the deepest and the darkest well that I have ever found
Hear me calling you from deep down

Well I had wishes, I had dreams that I could not tell
So I dropped my silver dollars down that wishing well

Deep, dark well
It's a deep, dark well
It's the deepest and the darkest well that I have ever found
Hear me calling you from deep down

Well I've had visions, I've had dreams that could not come true
'Cause I leaned too close, that's when I fell in to my..

Deep dark well,
It's a deep dark well
It's the deepest and the darkest well that I have ever found
Hear me calling you from deep down

General CommentThe lyrics and music are really rather simple and quaint. The speaker finds themselves wishing for something uncanny ("I had dreams I could not tell...I've had dreams that could not come true"), and ended up in some sort of rut. The music, though, somehow tells me it's not too life-shattering a disappointment. The speaker is calling for someone deep down, hoping for help.

General CommentHope seen is no hope at all ... i love making wishes also, with deep dark dreams & maintaining dreams with simple wishes ... a simple & deep song: perfectly cyclical; dark & hopeful.

General CommentThis song makes me think of the Arcade Fire's The Well and the Lighthouse, which has the similar theme of being trapped down under unfortunate circumstances because of trying too hard to get what you wanted but couldn't. And neither song ends up sounding depressing or complaining.

    Very nice.
