Oh setting sun, thy red rays maketh me cry.
They remind me of the one
whose love awaits me in the sky.

The bridal bed awaits us both
After the landscape of death I cross.
Before my sorrows I must die,
A nightwissen I send through the starlight sky.

The voice of nightly winds has awakened me;
Amidst all the grief they embrace me with relief.
Beneath my dreams and wishes
I long for thy caresses.

The bridal bed awaits us both
After the landscape of death I cross.
Before my sorrows, I must die,
A nightwissen I send through the starlit sky.

Passed away in silence,
A flute from the realm unseen
Empties its heart, making love to me.
With its enchanting melody,
Light of Orion, Shadow of Andromeda,
Calling of the Dancing Universe
Thou light I must enter,
Before thou can claim my soul,
And claim its peace.

General Commenti Oh setting sun, thy red rays maketh me cry.
They remind me of the one
whose love awaits me in the sky.

this is about longing for something, a person to love, a person who understands you, that you are sure exist somewhere - but you can't reach him or her. its' about living on you own, waiting for somebody to reach you and find you. beautiful and lonely.

General CommentI am pretty sure that this song is connected to "Astral Romance". I nerver quite understood the meaning of that song, until i heard this one. It is something like the beginning of the story.

General Commenti can see the astral romance connection, it is almost like a prelude, but even if it isn't related, this is still such a beautiful and soothing song.

General CommentLike beautyofthebeast said, it's about loving someone far far away and sending your love (or a Nightwish) to them through the stars. Very sad and beautiful, especially with the flute near the ending.

Lyric CorrectionI thought it said "Nightwish", not "nightwissen"
