"Undertow" as written by Goapele K. Mohlabane and James Ryan Wuihun Ho....
Let me go
Let me go
Let me seek the answer that I need to know
Let me find a way
Let me walk away
Through the Undertow
Please let me go

Let me fly
Let me fly
Let me rise against that blood-red velvet sky
Let me chase it all
Break my wings and fall
Probably survive
So let me fly
Let me fly

Let me run
Let me run
Let me ride the crest of chance into the sun
You were always there
But you may lose me here
Now love me if you dare
And let me run

I'm alive and I am true to my heart now, I am I
But why must truth always make me die?

Let me break!
Let me bleed!
Let me tear myself apart I need to breathe!
Let me lose my way!
Let me walk astray!
Maybe to proceed...
Just let me bleed!

Let me drain!
Let me die!
Let me break the things I love I need to cry!
Let me burn it all!
Let me take my fall!
Through the cleansing fire!
Now let me die!
Let me die

Let me out
Let me fade into that pitch-black velvet night

General CommentI reckon this song is a contrast to this heart of mine, as this heart of mine was admireing the beauty and love in a realationship. Whereas undertow is about the pain and agony of ending a relationshipp and somtimes u just feel like dying and the world cant go on.

General CommentDaniel is obviously having doubts and questions about his relationship that ultimately brings him to Budapest where the albums finale takes place in "Beyond the Pale". Some of the main lines where he shows that he is confused is in the lines

"Let me seek the answer that I need to know"
    and
    "Let me Lose my Way"

My InterpretationI think this song is about someone who is being smothered, not allowed to make their own choices, and their longing to be free, to do whatever there is to do, on their own. He wants to make his own choices, make his own mistakes, hurt himself and others if that is what comes of it, just so long as he is the one making the choice.

My InterpretationThis song is about someone who is completely broken. They want to do and feel everything, but are trapped by some outside force. In the end, they want to die, and morn their own death, as they need to escape, but at the same time, regret everything they have lost.

General CommentI think the music in this song plays an equal role with the lyrics. It's treads kind of slowly and gives the feeling of weakness and desperation. The opening riff reminded me a lot of Tool's "Undertow" days as well! And overall very Floyd-esque.

General CommentI think he is stuck and he just wants to free himself from whatever is holding him. He feels numb and he wants to be able to make mistakes if that will make he feel. And yeah, I agree with soadroller.
