"Sleep Now in the Fire" as written by and Thomas B. Morello Brad J. Wilk....
They coverd the RATM song in the Sony AOL studios
(It isn't on any album)
Chris can hardly put out the words,
but its great to hear Tom using his amazing guitar skills again!

The world is my expense
The cost of my desire
Jesus blessed me with its future
And I protect it with fire
So raise your fists
And march around
Just don't take what you need
Ill jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or Ill drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Hey, Hey
Sleep now in the fire
Hey, Hey
Sleep now in the fire

The lie is my expense
The scope of my desire
The party blessed me with its future
And I protect it with fire
I am the Nina The Pinta The Santa Maria
The noose and the rapist
The fields overseer
The agents of orange
The priests of Hiroshima
The cost of my desire
Sleep now in the fire

Hey, Hey
Sleep now in the fire
Hey, Hey
Sleep now in the fire

For its the end of history
Its caged and frozen still
There is no other pill to take
So swallow the one
That made you ill
The Nina The Pinta The Santa Maria
The noose and the rapist
The fields overseer
The agents of orange
The priests of Hiroshima
The cost of my desire
Sleep now in the fire

Yeah

Sleep now in the fire
Sleep now in the fire
Sleep now in the fire
Sleep now in the fire

General CommentIts just like the RATM song. The only difference is that Chris Cornell does the vocals. Which he does pretty bad. Still I love the song!

General CommentStone me if you like, but i never payed any attention to the vocals of this song.
This song isnt about lyrics or vocals.
Its about that little colorful intro he makes, and then about the ear-filling thunderstorm that starts to blast of lightningbolts out of that strato called soulpower.

General CommentIts obvious that Chris doesn't sound the greatest doing Zach's stuff, but like other people said, he is a singer not a rapper. I'm sure Zach wouldn't sound so great if he tried to sing some classic Soundgarden, its just out of his style like this is for Chris.

General CommentI miss soundgarden :( chris is still the man though and yeah this song rocks it just doesn't quite work without the awesomely angry man that is Zach de la Rocha singing it
