"Nothing Else Matters" as written by Aaron Michael Cox, Carlos Centel Battey, Marcos Enrique Palacios, Steven Andre Battey, Ernest Clark and Overtone,....
So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
Cause nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I just don't say
Cause nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do, no
Never cared for what they know, no
But I know

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
Cause nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do, no
Never cared for games they know
Never cared for what they do, no
Never cared for what they know
And I know

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
Cause nothing else matters

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No nothing else matters
Cause nothing else matters

General CommentI have nothing against artists doing cover versions of songs. This song comes nowhere close to the original, of course, but at least she made it her own, which is more than I can say of alot of artists out there. I hate nothing more than people who do cover versions but don't actaully change it at all. If you going to copy something, make it your own!

So although the original is still the best, I top my hat to Miss Silvas for trying!

General Commentmaking a cover version of nothing else matters - for me it's something like a final taboo. in my mind it will always be connected to metallica and james hetfiled's voice, there will never eb anything better than this. so other musicians should really think about covering it, and i think lucie silvas should have thought in another way.
i can't stand hearing her version or even watching the video...

maybe i'm not think objective, but i like this song tooooo much

General Commenti feel the same, she has a very good voice but covering this song is like blasphemy. And she made it so "pop sounding"

she sings well and plays piano well, but she has to stick with her own songs or cover a christina aguilera song or something

General CommentI gotta stick up for Lucie here, although you guys have said the most important thing - it's a metallica song (and always will be) - Lucie sings this song in her own talented way, and above that she sounds as if she means it, this makes the whole 'its a cover' pill a lot easier to swallow.

I'm not a massive Metallica fan, but when i heard this song originally, my opinion trebled of them. It's kinda out of character for them but, wow, it works. This song is probably more suited to female solo, so wen Lucie sings it we get a more typical sound with this 'opening up of the heart' song. Let it be said, she does great job with it.

    all imo :)

General CommentThe only thing I have against it is that she changed the lyrics a little from the original, and it really bothers me. I love the music and the vocals, definately give it some originality and makes it a better song (and while I love the Metallica version, her vocals are excellent here) than just a straightforward cover. But really, she should have left the lyrics completely alone. Even the minor changes bother me.

General Commentthis is a fantastic cover, and I'm glad she changed the lyrics because this version fits better. Her version is so much better than Metallica's, which is too long and dragged out.

General CommentThe only nitpick I have with this song is this lyric change:

Metallica: "All these words I don't just say."

Lucie Silvas: "All these words I just don't say."

Switching the words "don't" and "just" completely changes the meaning of the sentence. Other than that, it's a nice cover of a legendary song.
