Now what do you want from me?
When I've sacrificed my heart so you can be set free
And time will never cure this disease
I'm only left with tired arms to stop from drowning

This is loveless
Your love is hopeless

Do you you remember
On that night I couldn't find the words to say I'm sorry
If you recall that night you ripped my heart right out
Before saying I loved you
Do you believe is this?
Do you believe in me?
If you believe in love
Would you believe in me?

So what will you take from me?
I'm the man with out a soul, a soul for you to seek
And time will never cure your disease
I'm only left with tired arms to stop from drowning.

Believe in me
I've emptied my soul
Believe in me.
I've killed this disease now
Time to shatter your heart
Bring you to your knees
I've found the strength to fight on
And stop the bleeding

You're killing, you're not the same to me now got to kill to believe

    beautiful song indeed.

i think it's about two people who were very much in love at one time. he fucked up something and he's saying he's sorry for hurting her and he still loves her. she says she loves him too but she's still pissed off, and he doesn't know what to do to make her forgive him so he's like giving up. he's like fuck you if you don't accept my apology i'm moving on.

this has gotta be 1 of the best bleeding through songs ever!!!

i rekkon its about a guy who gave his all 4 this chick "I've sacrificed my heart so you can be set free"

then he went and did something so bad but he just couldnt manage 2 apologize "On that night I couldnt find the words to say I'm sorry"

so she left without saying she loved him "you ripped my heart right out before saying i loved you"

now he feels the only escape is murder "time to shatter your heart bring you to your knees" "got to kill to believe"

its probably wrong but thats what i think anyway...

Imo, i think its about that he've done something stupid, and for that his girl makes him pay, like acting hurt just to hurt him.. Thats whats the first 21 lines in the above lyrcs are about. The final ones are about him "countering" this, thinking like "fuck this, its ben going on for to long" or "This is loveless Your love is hopeless".. Anyone getting my point?

I think the beginning is eluding to the fact that she doesn't want to try and the entire relationship is basically resting on his shoulders. And relationships are not a one person thing.

"This is loveless Your love is hopeless"

Yeah, he loves her but she will NEVER love him

"Do you you remember On that night I couldnt find the words to say I'm sorry"

I don't think he did anything wrong but he is probably saying the reason that she doesn't love him is his fault so he is apologizing. "I'm sorry this is all my fault that this didn't work out."

But at the time he couldnt say that, he was shocked and in disbelief it was all coming to an end.

Which is not true, the relationship was doomed from the beginning. Why?

    Because she never loved him!

"If you recall that night you ripped my heart right out"

She finally told him she doesn't love him

"Before saying i loved you" She tries to ease his pain by saying something like, "We can still be friends" but obviously thats not going to work. He is in love with her. Remember - Before.

"Do you believe is this? Do you believe in me? If you believe in love Would you believe in me?"

She is just questioning the facts. He is perfect, he does everything for her, he is there for her, and he is everything but she doesn't love him? He just doesn't understand and rightfully so.

The end is about him being robbed of everything. His love, his time and his pride.

So if she doesn't love him back he will MAKE her love him and they will see eye to eye no matter what. She will believe. Even if it means he has to kill to her to make her believe.

The line "I'm only left with tired arms to stop the drowning" is saying that he won't drown ( he won't die from this) but he won't be able to swim to shore ( he won't be able to move on). Reminds me of one of my break ups... He...

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
