I have spent all my previous life
Waiting for something else to start
Now I see that I have felt so numb
To everything that passed me by

Need to go land on my own two feet
Need to change my life this way
Need to free my mind of memories
Watch them how they screw my brain

The time that has come
Convinced what I feel inside
In darkness I float
How far is the light?

Inside – fearland
Don’t want you to know
Outside – fearless
I do want you to watch
Do you mind?

Would you step aside
Make way for me
Can’t you see I’m dead set on doing this

Enough of dreamless nights
Enough of sleepless nights
I’m the way I am
Get out of my sight
Do you mind?

You can put me in the lion’s cage
You can take my soul
Give a second name
But I don’t intend to stop my fight
And I’m not afraid
Not afraid

General CommentGreat song, it's pretty obvious what it's about I think. Realizing you have to change something in your life, and trying your best to accomplish doing it. And he's kinda saying that he won't rest, won't give up 'til he gets there.

My InterpretationThe whole album is about schzophrenia. I was thinking before that the album was about love... But not that simple I see. There are many signs of it in there.

    In second life syndrome...

"Secret exhibition the cure for loneliness"

The cure for loneliness, he is lonely and wants company... but then he realizes that he doesn't need it anymore in line:

"And I know I don't need you now..."

Then there in this song in which he calls by saying "you" it is the second personality.

"You can put me in the lions cage"
"You can take my soul and give a second name"

Then in dance with the shadow....

It says "Pull myself together holding on..."
it means the character in the album unifies with the second one...
and he knows it's the final...
"Standing at the point of no return...."

This duality can be inferred in the line :
" Keeping all the right side of my heart"

In many religions left and right has meanings

    Right is God's hand
    Left is Demon's hand...,

He wants to relieve this right part of his heart here...

and then he realizes the truth is obvious.

My InterpretationConsidering the schizophrenic theme of the album, could this perhaps be a message (Volte) to their other self (perhaps the personality that they don't want to rule their life)?

Is it a message of one personality telling the other that I will now take control, and ensure that it will be strong and lead them right.

Similarly it could be that it is simply a message to everyone, to not let their past (hence why a "previous life") control their present and future. Send a message to that previous you that now you are stronger, and that you are not afraid. Define yourself as it were without letting the past detract you from that.

My InterpretationAnother thought ... are the lines "I am not afraid" a battle cry (that is motivating them and a shout out at the "bad" self) OR is it a sign of fear, that is trying to speak themselves up because they lack confidence/are really afraid but trying to mask it??
