"I Just Can't Live a Lie" as written by Wayne Anthony Hector and Stephen Paul Robson....
Lately nothing I do ever seems to please you
And maybe turning my back would be that much easier
'Cause hurtful words are all that we exchange
But I can't watch you walk away

Can I forget about the way it feels to touch you
And all about the good times that we've been through?
Could I wake up without you every day
And would I let you walk away?

No, I can't learn to live without
And I can't give up on us now

Oh, I know I could say we're through
And tell myself I'm over you
But even if I made a vow
I promise not to miss you now
And try to hide the truth inside
I fell 'cause I, I just can't live a lie

Could I forget the look that tells me that you want me
And all the reasons that make loving you so easy
The kiss that always makes it hard to breathe
The way you know just what I mean?

No, I can't learn to live without
Oh, so don't you give up on us now

Oh, I know I could say we're through
And tell myself I'm over you
But even if I made a vow
I promise not to miss you now
And try to hide the truth inside
I fell 'cause I, I just can't live a lie

Oh, and I don't wanna try

Oh, I know I could say we're through
And tell myself I'm over you
But even if I made a vow
I promise not to miss you now
And try to hide the truth inside
I fell 'cause I, I just can't live a lie

(I just can't live a lie)

But even if I made a vow
I promise not to miss you now
And try to hide the truth inside
I fell 'cause I, I just can't live a lie

Oh, I can't live a lie

Oh, I can't live a lie

General CommentThe chorus on this is slightly wrong. The actual chorus is:
    I know I could say we're through
And tell myself I'm over you
But even if I made a vow
A promise not to miss you now
And try to hide the truth inside
    I'd fail cause I just can't live a lie

General CommentReminds me of myself. I broke up with this wonderful guy, and I tried hard to convince others, and myself, that I didn't really love him. That I was better off without him.
I was wrong, and I knew it. We ended up back together a year later, because he wasn't going to give up on me.
    We're married now.

General CommentShe had a boyfriend because it wasn't working out very well, even though she still had feelings for him. She really misses him and wants him back.

General CommentI love this song, one of my favorites from Carrie!

I think this song is about wanting to break up with someone you love, but you love them to much to let them go and they will always stay in your heart forever.

Song MeaningThis song isn't just about missing a guy, it's about trying to cover up your feelings for someone and realizing that in the end, you can't live without them. You try to make it seem like you're better off, but you relive all the memories and find that you left what was keeping your heart beating.

General Commentthis is a wonderful song ^_^
in my opinion, it's about still loving an old flame and saying that you can't 'live a lie' an pretend like you don't lie them anymore, because you still do. you could go on pretending that you feel nothing now but it'd be a lie.
because you really couldn't live without them.
    i love this song![:

General Commentthis song simply means, that no matter how you hide and cover what you really feel, still truth of what's inside prevails...the more you cover, the more it is seen..

bear with me..this is a good song..:)

General CommentI guess I find this song more hopeful than everyone else on here. I think she's saying that they're going through a tough time in their relationship right now, but when it comes down to it, she doesn't want to throw what they have away.

The song starts off saying that they aren't in a good place in their relationship, and the bad parts are both of their faults (cause hurtful words are all that we exchange). So, maybe it would be easier for her to leave this, but the more she thinks about living without him/her, the more she realizes she can't do it. She can't imagine not touching them or waking up and not seeing their face.

So, she's not going to take the easy way out; she's not going to give up on them.

Then, it goes into the chorus. She could say it's over and try to convince herself that she doesn't love them anymore, but no matter how many times she could say it, it'll never be true, and she can't "live a lie"

I don't think this is a breakup song, and I don't think she's delusional. I think it's about how the time in a relationship where it isn't going well, and you have to decide whether or not it's worth sticking around for.

I think of it as a love song. it's saying that things are crappy right now, and this relationship is at a low, but I want to work at this, because it's you I want to be with.
