Shot for shot
Let the bullet penetrate me
It breaks life
Tell me stories of gold and gods
The precision in your voice
Breaks the walls that I built
Your eyes means livin' a lie

(Take a chance)

When I come much bigger than this
A dark star
Spend another day with me
Get something that doesn't reflect
This sort that I need
Oh take the chance
Bring me the calm

When there is nothing
Expose the dark side
Awakening emotional
Expose the dark side
Impossible to tame

Away from the light of the sun
Away, I find what is real

Throw yourself into the eye of chaos
Infiltrate me
Sneak out before I wake
Take out the trash and burn it
Try to find a beautiful place to lay
These fragile bones of mine

Away from the light of the sun
Away, I find what is real

Away from the light of the sun
Away, I find what is real

When there is nothing
Expose the dark side
Awakening emotional
Expose the dark side
Impossible to tame

Away from the light of the sun
Away, I find what is real

Away from the light of the sun
Away, I find what is real

Away from the light of the sun
Away, I find what is real

Shot for shot. Let bullets penetrate me. Embrace me. Tell me stories of golden gods The precision in your voice peirce the walls that I've built Your eyes reach deep in me.

Take a chance, They don't come much bigger then this

Dark star. Spend another day with me. A dead surface that doesn't reflect the storm underneath Take the chance. Bring me the calm. ...And it leaves nothing.

Expose the dark side Aching and emotional Expose the dark side Impossible to tame

Away from the light of the sun Away, I find what is really me

Throw yourself into the eye of chaos Infiltrate me, Sneak out before i awake Take out the trash and burn it Try to find a beautiful place to lay these fragile bones of mine.

you find out who you or other people really are in the most extreme of situations, see how they act/react

= "away form the light of the sun, away i find what is really me"

I think that this song is about being in a serious, depressed state of mind. And that person is kind of secluding to himself trying to find the reasons why he is feeling the way that he does. He then tries to deal with all of the things that are causing problems for him and find out what kind of person he really is. He also finds himself pushing people away, even though he wants help from them. To me the line "Impossible to tame" is kind of saying that he cant seem to grasp onto himself, like he cant control his emotions. Altogether he just wants to find the reason why he feels that way, and wants to find a way out of that mindset.

Its nice to see some lyrics from their Leaked album (Come Clarity - Feb 2006) finally being written up on here. Ive been searching on google and everyone else for lyrics of their unreleased album.

I love this album along with all the rest, this song specifically.

This song is awesome, easily the best from the new album. The chorus is so beatiful... almost made me cry.

This is one of the songs that hit me hard on the first listen. The chorus really sounds mystical in some way. Very well-done. I love In Flames' new sound, and, for the first time since STYE, I'm able to truthfully say that I hope they continue in this direction.

I love the "Expose the dark side.." Bridge, but I really despise the chorus.. It works at the end of the song, but not in the first half. IMO.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
