"don't be so hard" as written by Seth James Johnson, Joseph Matthew Lussa, Ryan O'connor and Daniel James Stevens....
Don't be so hard on yourself
The name of the game is humiliation,
And thanks for your admiration.
I never thought I'd say this:
The way that we play has such confrontation:
Guilt by association.

"Hold me, hold me"
"If I were to"
"I can't, can't, I swear I can't let you."
"It's all in your hands but I'll do what I can,
So you can do what you have to."

Don't think too hard about it,
You never knew I'd get this far,
Would get this far without you.
Relax, stand back and watch it happen.
I'll wave my goodbyes into the night and say

"Hold me, hold me"
"If I were to"
"I can't, can't, I swear I can't let you."
"It's all in your hands but I'll do what I can,
So you can do what you have to."

Say you'll never, ever. Say you'll never, ever.
Say you'll never let me go.
Say you'll never, ever. Say you'll never, ever.
Say you'll never tell a soul.

"Hold me, hold me"
"If I were to"
"I can't, can't, I swear I can't let you."
"It's all in your hands but I'll do what I can,
So you can do what you have to."

General CommentI can't be sure what this song means. Its definately about being left and showing what you can make of yourself in the aftermath. That is apparent by these lines: "You never knew I'd get this far,
Would get this far without you.
Relax, stand back and watch it happen.
I'll wave my goodbyes into the night and say.."

its hard to understand/ follow the next part with all the dialouge. hrm. good song though

General CommentIt's about being on and off with someone for a long time, and then when you're finally fed up with the last break up, you decide that it's definite and that you're going to stop coming back to the person because you have some respect for yourself and you're so tired of them abusing/using you. And the dialogue is the other person trying to get you to come back, and you're resisting.

General Commenti agree with carrie, but i think that its more specifically about the girl wanting to leave but she keeps coming back and he cant stand it anymore. she asks him to hold her, and he's uncertain "if i were to...." and shes knows that it will all just end up the same as it was all the other times so she wont let him, even though she wants him to. and he finally resolves to let her go off and do what she needs to do without stopping her.

General Commentand why doesnt anyone ever write a song from the other side of the spectrum? they are always about getting their hearts broken and never about breaking another persons heart.... it should work both ways

General Commenti might be way off base but i see it kind of a guy pressuring a girl into sex maybe. and she's not sure but he means a lot to her and she doesn't want to lose him so she goes along with it.

General Commentto me this song could be a bout a suicide in a sense trying not to get his lover too caught up in it. in the refrain the girl is saying she 'can't let you' him do this to himself but he has made his decision and now he's moving on

General Commenti honestly agree with anybody who said that its about getting dumped and ultimately moving on, and maybe the chance that the person who broke up with you, might feel stupid about letting you go after they realize that you didn't need them anyway.
