"On Peak Hill" as written by Torquil John Campbell and Christopher Allen Seligman....
The rain fell hard on the roofs that day
You telephone from far away
I see the ocean from my room
All I could say was "are you coming home soon?"

The static whisper in my ear
But in a moment your voice was clear
"I need some time," you said to me
That's when I knew you were gonna make me lonely

You were gonna make me wish for the time right before I was born
When every living breath was another new dawn
Like the time I was 5 at the top of Peak Hill
And the wind almost took me away

You're gonna make me wish for the time right before I was born
When every living breath was another new dawn
Like the time I was 5 at the top of Peak Hill
And the wind almost took me away

I walk awhile before I sleep, count the secrets that I keep
I hope for more, I know for sure I fall apart before I weep
I disconnect the telephone 'cause I can choose to be alone
I'll get more done, I'll have some fun, pretend you're not the only one

And I'm never gonna wish for the time right before I was born
When every living breath was another new dawn
Like the time I was 5 at the top of Peak Hill
And the wind almost took me away

You're gonna make me wish for a time right before I was born
When every living breath was another new dawn
Like the time I was 5 at the top of Peak Hill
And the wind almost took me away

General Comment"That's when I knew you were gonna make me lonely
" -- catches me everytime and then I'd go into introspective mode.

General Commentlove this song. mostly the line, "that's when i knew you were gonna make me lonely." i guess for me, it's just that moment where you realize youre going to hurt. obviously, sounds like a long distance relationship thing - "telephone from far away." so- being in a type of situation where it's a constant struggle, and realizing the impending heartbreak is going to make you wish for a time when things were a lot easier... ehhhh, brilliant.

General Commenti think this song is really sad...i think its about a girl who left the guy, and he just goes out with other girls to foget his pain coz she really hurt me...plus she is far awa and somehow he hasn't any control..well anyway i luv the stars, u ve gotta see them live its worth!!!

General CommentMaybe it doesn't flow when you read it outloud because it's meant to be sung. (Just a thought seeing as what a beautiful song it is with lots of "flow")

General CommentThis song is absolutely lovely.
I think that "You telephone from far away" does not mean they were in a long-distance relationship, but that she left him and called him from somewhere far away. She just needed to get away. It says she called him, like she was at a hotel or someplace not home. He asked her if she was coming home soon, and she said she needed time. Just my thoughts.
But these lyrics are breathtaking. I love stars!
