The love of her life is drifting away
Their losing the fight for another day
The life that she's known is falling apart
A fatherless home, a child's broken heart
You're holding her hand
You're straining for words
You're trying to make sense of it all
She's desperate for hope
Darkness clouding her view
She's looking to you

Just love her like Jesus
Carry her to him
His yoke is easy
His burden is light
You don't need the answers
To all of life's questions
Just know that He loves her
Stay by her side
And love her like Jesus
Love her like Jesus

The gifts lie in wait in a room painted blue
A little blessing from heaven will be there soon
Hope fades into night,
Blue skies turn into gray
As the little one slips away
You're holding her hand
You're straining for words
You're trying to make sense of it all
They're desperate for hope
Darkness clouding their view
They're looking to you

Just love her like Jesus
Carry her to him
His yoke is easy
His burden is light
You don't need the answers
To all of life's questions
Just know that He loves her
Stay by her side
And love her like Jesus
Love her like Jesus

Lord of all creation holds our life in His hand
The God of all the nations holds our lives in His hands
The rock of our salvation holds our lives in His hands
He cares for them just as He cares for you.

So love them like Jesus
Love them like Jesus
You don't need the answers
To all of life's questions
Just know that He loves them
Stay by their side

Love them like Jesus
Love them like Jesus
Love them like Jesus
Love them like Jesus

there are times when you are forced to stand there and watch your friends and ppl that you love make "stupid" choices in life. no matter how much you want to help them, you can't because they believe that they don't need help. this song to me... talks about how you need to remind yourself to just stay by them, to love them like Jesus, to not judge them, to be there for them no matter how hard it gets...

I love this song, it has touched me so much. I work at a nursing home and there are some days when you see things and think "God what is the reason to let these people end up here like this?" I know I couldn't work there without him guiding me, holding my hand to hold theirs and just be with them, offer hope, prayer and to just love them like Jesus wants me to.

I was flying home from vacation in florida, i turned this song on my ipod and... it hit me so hard that i started crying right there in the seat. I'm a 25 year-old man in the military and this song floored me.

"The life that she's known is falling apart A fatherless home, a child's broken heart"

The hardest part of this song, is knowing that some children endure heartbreak like this. And how can we as other broken people help in a situation such as a lost mother trying to hold on to the broken pieces of her life? The answer this song rightfully gives is Jesus.

Praise the Lord, he is our helper in times of need.

I really don't like Casting Crowns...at all. BUT. This song is good. I heard it on the radio, and despite the band, It's got a good message. It's sad.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
