"Lifesong" as written by and John Mark Hall....
Empty hands held high
Such small sacrifice
Now joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight
May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to you

Let my lifesong sing to you
Let my lifesong sing to you
I want to sign your name
To the end of this day
Lord led my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to you

Lord I give my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be your hands and feet
So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to you

Let my lifesong sing to you
Let my lifesong sing to you
I want to sign your name
To the end of this day
Lord led my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to you

Hallelujah, Hallelujah let my lifesong sing to you
Hallelujah, Hallelujah let my lifesong sing to you
Hallelujah, Hallelujah let my lifesong sing to you

Let my lifesong sing to you
Let my lifesong sing to you
I want to sign your name
To the end of this day
Lord led my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to you

Let my lifesong sing to you
Let my lifesong sing to you
I want to sign your name
To the end of this day
Lord led my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to you

General CommentI can't believe there are no comments on this song (lol that's probably the most used first post). I love this song and while I can't think enough to say what it means to me, it's one of my favorite Casting Crowns songs...which is hard to say since I like most of them, but this one is rather uplifting and isn't hurting my head at the moment (stupid headache) so at this moment it's one of my favorites lol.

General CommentFirst of all, in reaction to Norgy2010's comment, perhaps it's not that we're blinded by sin, but that we have a different understanding of the world than you do.

Think of it this way. If Satan is zero and God is one, and the world is a digital computer, then without both Satan and God, there is no signal, only a static perpetual voltage which, without something to compare against, says nothing, means nothing, and is nothing.

Information can not exist in a vacuum - it needs other information to echo off of, reflect off of, and build against. And it can neither be created nor destroyed. God can not have created you - he can have created the phyiscal matter that your body is built out of, but the information that is *truly* you, the knowledge that makes your soul yours and not someone else's, this not even God can create or destroy. This is eternal and beyond the scope of any being to do anything to.

Beyond that, I think this song is about a different interpretation of our daily actions and thoughts - looking at it as information - a particular type of information, a song.. each choice we make adds another note, each movement, each step, perhaps even each thought..

As far as the 'true meaning of christianity', I'm not sure there is such a thing. Reality is different for each participant, and you and I may take totally different things away from the Bible. (In fact, we almost certainly did. I think it's a awful book, that it constrains God and shows the pettiness of it's authors, and that the reality is far better than a diety who will allow you to be tortured for eternity for not following one particular stripe of beliefs). There isn't a 'true' meaning of any given word that can be said to hold true for all the people who use that word, and perhaps that's not important. What's probably important is what truth is, to you.

General CommentTo sheer, if what you say is true, then eventually all of humanity will fall to pieces, the sun will die, all life as we know it in our solar system will come to an end, and maybe eventually, the hopeless cycle will begin again. But even then, every word that has ever been spoken, every idea ever brought to light, and every moral thread ever followed will cease to hold any significance.

But if what we believe is true, then just as Romans 14:11 says, "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'Every knee will bow before me, every tongue will confess to God.'"

None of your logic could remove me from the faith I have in my God, and I will stand with him leading me until the end.

General CommentThis song really speaks to my heart. It talks about living a christian life. At the end of the day we want our life to be praise to Christ. We want the song of our life to be worship to Him. I pray that when I die God can look back on my life and be able to say that my life song was pleasing to Him.

General Commentsheer, you are making one of the great weaknessess of the anti biblical arguement quite clear, you seem to think that God is bound by natural laws, and that just because you believe something doesn't make it real. Bing bang theorists believe in anti-matter, and NONE has been discovered, as for information coming from nothing, it didn't, it came from God, it clearly states in the Bible "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus, being the word of truth), and the Word was God, and Was with God. God is a default, Christianity (true christianity) is based soley off of the Word of God, and the Bible, no one can disprove a single sentence, person, or idea in the Bible, you seem to be under the impression that what our so-called science today states is infallible. It is not science vs. God, it is what non- christian scientists believe vs God's truth.

My OpinionThis is a wonderful song that exemplifies being the hands and feet of Christ. It was used as the soundtrack of a video made for a mission that a group of us were on this past summer and it was perfect. All I want is for my Lifesong to be heard by others as the love of Christ.
