"One Day I'll Fly Away" as written by Will Jennings and Joe Sample....
I make it alone
When love is gone
Still you made your mark
Here in my heart

One day I'll fly away
Leave your love to yesterday
What more can your love do for me
When will love be through with me

I follow the night
Can't stand the light
When will I begin
My life again

One Day I'll fly away
Leave your love to yesterday
What more can your love do for me
When will love be through with me
Why live life from dream to dream
And dread the day that dreaming ends

One day I'll fly away leave your love to yesterday
What more can your love do for me
When will love be through with me
Why live life from dream to dream
And dread the day that dreaming ends

One day i'll fly away, fly away, fly away (repeat to fade)

General CommentI think she's remembering an impossible love affair, and just wants to be free of the memories so she can move on. "why live life from dream to dream and dread the day that dreaming ends." This is one of my Husbands "memory songs" I discovered a whole load of these "miss you" songs a while back. He had an affair with someone he fell madly in love with, but because they were both married, it couldn't carry on, and now all he has left are these songs............ Oh, and me, the booby prize!!!!

Song MeaningI think I know exactly what this song is about because I am experiencing it with my ex partner right now. She is telling herself that she will make it on her own eventually but is still in love and is struggling to let go at the moment but one day she will move on and get past the hurt (One day I'll fly away, Leave your love to yesterday).

It's a wonderful song but makes me sad.
