Miss me baby
When you hear our favorite song
Miss me baby
And when you start to sing along
Think about all the times that danced in light to it all night long
Oh, then miss me baby

You want me honey
Like you did the night you told me that you loved me
You couldn't wait anymore
Left the keys in the door, took my hand, pulled my down on the kitchen floor
Yeah we were that crazy
Miss me baby

[Chorus]
Cause when he's holding you
Know that it's killing me
Let my memory be the reason, girl, that you can't sleep
And every time you feel his touch
I pray to God it's not enough
That I've touched your heart so deep, girl, you can't shake me
Cause I love you
Yes I need you
Miss me baby

Miss me baby
Til you can't take it no more
Miss me baby
Pack your bags and hit the door
I'm a man, I was wrong, forgive me, come back home, I'll be waiting
Right here waiting
Miss me baby

[Chorus]

And every time you feel his touch
I pray to God it's not enough
That I touched your heart so deep, girl, you can't shake me
Cause I love you
Yes I need you
Miss me baby

Every time you hear this song
Miss me baby

why are there so few comments??? this is an amazing song about a guy who obviously fucked up in the past and he's totally kicking himself for whatever it is he's done wrong, and he wants a second chance... and he wants her to miss him... at least i think that's what it means! forgive me.

Although I'm not much of a country fan, I do like this song. It has a quiet, plaintive rhythm that conveys the longing he's feeling. Obviously he's messed up, but he realizes it and wants her to come back. He feels all the desperation that you experience when you want to make someone miss and want you as badly as you desire them. The line "And everytime you feel his touch I pray to God it's not enough" adequately expresses the depth of feeling that you have when your loved one is with someone else. It's beautiful.

y'know. This song to me seems like, the woman's cheating on her man... with the singer.. and he did something to piss her off, maybe said leave your husband for me.

I relate to this song, of course since I am a girl I switch the words lol. I love someone and he is thinking about marrying his baby's momma just to do the rite thing..not out of love, and I want him to miss me and want me back because I still love him and want him back. Beautiful song, I feel the love he feels for her. I love like that too.

Before me and my boyfriend went out, we were best friends and had been since we were born and grew up together. Well one day he sent me a forwarded text that said to tell a song that reminded me of him. Well, I sent him a song and then asked him what song reminded him of me. Well, he didn't want to tell me because he was embarresed. Well I finally got him to tell me and he said this song. I had never heard it and so I looked it up. The minute I heard it, I knew he liked me. I about cried when I heard the part "Cause when he's holding you Know that it's killing me". I thought that was so sweet! We now have been going out for almost a year and just as strong! This is a GREAT song!

This part kills me: "Like you did the night you told me that you loved me/ You couldn't wait anymore/Left the keys in the door, took my hand, pulled my down on the kitchen floor." Where are guys like this?

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
