"Girlfriend" as written by Daniel Francis Hawkins, Francis Gilles Poullain-patterson and Justin David Hawkins....
Girl I know I've got a funny way of showing it
Yes, I thought our love was here to stay and blowing it
Was never on my agenda
She meant nothing to me, I meant nothing to her
Now I realize it's over, I just got to tell you

Girlfriend I love you, I love you, I love you so much
I love you, I love you, I love you, so much
I love you, I love you, I love you, so much so much

Girl, I know I ripped your heart right out so why pretend
That there is even a shadow of doubt that it's the end
Why the hell are we breaking our necks
When there's hardly any sex sex!
To simplify something that's extremely complex
You were my girlfriend, now you're my ex

(xylophone?)

Girlfriend I love you, I love you, I love you so much
I love you, I love you, I love you, so much
I love you, I love you, I love you, so much so much
Listen to my synthesizer!

Girlfriend I love you, I love you, I love you so much
I love you, I love you, I love you, so much
I love you, I love you, I love you, so much so much

Girlfriend I love you, I love you, I love you, so much
I love you, I love you, I love you, so much
I love you, I love you, I love you, so much so much

General CommentThis is my favourite darkness song!!!!!! If a ever said the same about a song from their other album, then this song has taken the lead in my favourite-ism.

So it's about him cheating on his girlfriend so now they are broken up.. but he still loves her. that's correct? ya?

General CommentI love the irony and wit of the darkness =)

    This song is no exception.

Lauraisme-- I don't think so, actually. The chorus seems very ironic and out of place, when you hear verse two. "Why the hell are we breaking our necks
when there's hardly any sex SEX!" This line almost definately says that he's not taking the heartache of breakup seriously...

I think this is a bit of a jab at those songs like "Confessions" (by some RnB guy... you know?)-- where the cheating boyfriend goes back to his girlfriend and says "I love you" even though he cheated.

Thats why he repeats "I love you, I love you, I love you so much"... um, so much ^^; Because really, if he loved her so much, he wouldn't have cheated, nya?

General CommentI have the impression that they're trying to keep the image of glam rock alive. They're not the first band to dress like that... And they hopefully won't be the last.
