"Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time" as written by Daniel Francis Hawkins, Francis Gilles Poullain-patterson and Justin David Hawkins....
May not get back what we have,
What I threw away.
But you know I will do anything,
Anything you say.
Across a thousand miles of broken glass,
On my hands and knees.
I would crawl if for a moment,
We could seize hostility.

But it seemed like such a good idea at the time;
Such a very, very good idea at the time.
I don't know where I am,
Don't know where I went wrong.
Over the wedding stone, again

I don't know where I am,
Don't know where I went wrong.
Over the wedding stone, again

Never between it's over,
But lately I have found,
That you only seem to come alive,
When I' am not around.

But it seemed like such a good idea at the time;
Such a very, very good idea at the time.
I don't know where I am,
Don't know where I went wrong.
Over the wedding stone, again

Well it seemed like such a good idea at the time;
Such a very, very good idea at the time.

I don't know where I am,
Don't know where I went wrong.
Over the wedding stone, again

I don't know where I am,
Don't know where I went wrong.
Over the wedding stone

    Song MeaningI always thought it was about cheating, "seemed like such a good idea at the time," but yea it could be any sort of a breakup. Pretty song.

    General Commentya, i agree w/fade-to-torn, its about them breakin up, but he still kind of has a place for her in his heart, hence the 'i would do anything you say' part

    General CommentI find this song difficult to listen too, as it brings back such messed up and broken memories. But other than that, it is a lovely song. A break up song about a man reminiscing about what he had with this woman, and trying to explain to her that whatever mistake he had done that resulted them breaking up in the first place 'seemed like a good idea at the time', if we interpret it in a different way, it signifies that the relationship wasn't able to be revived anyway, as she had lost interest and perhaps they didn't last in the long run, but for the short amount of time that they were together, they actually enjoyed each others company.
